SMASH Season 1 DVD Giveaway

Universal Home Entertainment has provide us with 5 copies of their hit series SMASH Season 1 to giveaway to some lucky fans.

SMASH season 2 premieres February 5th.

The series is a production of Universal Television in association with DreamWorks. Theresa Rebeck is the creator of the series and she also wrote the pilot episode and five episodes of the first season, including the season finale. The series has a large number of executive producers including Steven Spielberg, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Rebeck, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman serve as the composers and executive producers. In March 2012, Rebeck stepped down as showrunner.

'SMASH' is a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire - to be a 'SMASH.' The series centers on a desire to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe - written by the successful songwriting duo of Tom (Tony Award nominee Christian Borle, 'Legally Blonde: The Musical') and Julia (Emmy Award winner Debra Messing, 'Will & Grace'). Julia recently began the process of adopting a child with her husband Frank (Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James, 'Shrek the Musical') of many years, but her focus is torn when she has the opportunity to write another Broadway hit. A rivalry soon forms for the lead role between a youthful, inexperienced Midwestern beauty Karen (Katharine McPhee, 'American Idol') - who is trying to find fame in the big city against all odds - and stage veteran Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty, '9 to 5: The Musical'), who's determined to leave the chorus line and finally get her big break. A tenacious producer Eileen (Oscar winner, Anjelica Huston, 'Prizzi's Honor') discovers the 'Marilyn' project and jumps on board with a brilliant director, Derek (Jack Davenport, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films) - whose talent is matched by his cunning and egocentric amorality. Jaime Cepero ('Porgy and Bess') stars as Ellis, and Raza Jaffrey ('Sex and the City 2,' 'MI-5') stars as Dev.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
