BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Chloe Moretz Could Stay

It seems somehow weirdly fitting that the adaptation of Gayle Forman’s life-or-death limbo choice romantic novel If I Stay has been spending lots of time hovering between production and development purgatory. Now it appears to be moving towards the light again – a green light, that is, with news that Chloe Moretz is attached to star and RJ Cutler is in talks to direct.

The plot follows 17-year-old Mia, a gifted classical musician with an indie rocker boyfriend. One cold February morning, she and her family are involved in a car accident that leaves her drifting between life and death, and facing a hard choice: give in to her injuries, or fight to return to the love she knows.

Foreman’s book first hit the Holly-radar back in 2009, when Catherine Hardwicke signed on to direct it for Summit, which had the rights. We thought it was a surprising move, as it came after the studio had decided not to have her make the Twilight sequel despite delivering a big hit the first time around. But the usual complimentary PR statements duly arrived.

Then everything went quiet, Hardwicke developed other projects and now Cutler is the man Summit wants. He’s best known for documentaries, including The September Issue and The World According to Dick Cheney, which had its world premiere at Sundance this month. He’s also been working in TV, running the writers’ room of country music drama Nashville. So the blend of music and weepy drama in Stay does sound like something he could handle. And if Moretz signs on, this could become a rather interesting property, as she's historically brought a little edge to everything she's done. We'll keep an eye out for further news.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
