KONAMI Cos-Play Event Lets Fans Compete and Celebrate Their Favorite Franchises


Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced their fan appreciation events during Comic-Con 2011 at the San Diego Convention center. Taking place July 21-24, this year’s Comic-Con will give KONAMI fans numerous opportunities to come and celebrate decades of legendary franchises by hosting both a fan signing event with key members of Kojima Productions, including Hideo Kojima, famed METAL GEAR SOLID series creator. In addition to the Kojima Productions signing event, KONAMI will also host a cos-play competition for fans, with prizes and awards for the taking.

Hideo Kojima, Executive Vice President of Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., Director of Kojima Productions and creator of the METAL GEAR SOLID franchise, will be on hand to sign autographs for fans attending Comic- Con 2011. Mr. Kojima will not be alone, as fans will be able to meet and greet Yoji Shinkawa, Art Director of Kojima Productions and Yumi Kikuchi, the popular Japanese actress and the voice of Raging Raven (METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS) and Strangelove (METAL GEAR SOLD: PEACE WALKER).

KONAMI will host a Cos-Play competition for attendees at Comic-Con 2011. Fans can dress up like their favorite characters from decades of legendary franchises, including Contra, Frogger, Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes!
