Now don't get confused with the name of the film "Sleeping Beauty" This is no Disney princess movie here.


Julia Leigh directed film and is set to premiere at the 64th Cannes Film Festival. Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) plays Lucy, a young university student who is drawn into prostitution, drugged, and unable to recollect her activities. The script made the 2008 Black List of unproduced screenplays grabbing attention in Hollywood.

Death-haunted, quietly reckless, Lucy is a young university student who takes a job as a Sleeping Beauty. In the Sleeping Beauty Chamber old men seek an erotic experience that requires Lucy’s absolute submission. This unsettling task starts to bleed into Lucy’s daily life and she develops an increasing need to know what happens to her when she is asleep.
