Disney To A Make Gargoyles Fim

Disney To Make A Gargoyles Fim And Not The One Your Thinking Of

Zoe Green is in final negotiations with the Mouse House to pen a screenplay based on an original idea developed by Lauren Shuler Donner, who will produce the live-action film for Disney.

The project is not tied to "Gargoyles," the popular animated TV series that Disney produced in the 1990s, or a comicbook that was later produced by series creator Greg Weisman.

Instead, it centers around a world and mythology of the menacing stone statues that the studio was keen to explore, sources said. Both Disney and Shuler Donner were circling separate gargoyle projects and ultimately paired up and hired Green to tackle an idea hatched with Disney exec LouAnne Brickhouse, who is shepherding the project at the studio. Shuler Donner will produce through the Donners' Co., which she runs with husband Richard Donner.

Project would fit in well with the high-profile projects Disney is looking to produce these days -- films that can become franchises at the megaplex and spin off popular videogames, merchandise, TV shows and theme park rides.

A bigscreen version of the "Gargoyles" series was being developed in 1996 with Weisman, show producer Frank Paur and Dean Devlin. But the right take never received a greenlight.

Green has a penchant for penning fantasy fare. She's written "Tigress" for Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment, based on the Disney lot. Pic follows a woman who starts getting tiger-like instincts. Robert Teitel and George Tillman Jr. of State Street Pictures are producers on the project.

Scribe is also tackling the script for Syfy miniseries "The Diamond Age," an adaptation of Neal Stephenson's 1995 novel "The Diamond Age: Or a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer," that George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing. She has also written for the animated series "Wolverine and the X-Men."

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
