BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Akira Movie To Be PG-13

Akira Movie To Be PG-13

We brought you the news back in February that The Hughes Bros. who brought us Menace II Society and Book Of Eli, were attached to direct WB’s live action Akira movie. The project is still produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way, along with Andrew Lazar but it doesn’t say if Leo will play the character Kaneda.

First off, as far as who among the brothers will get to direct the project, Collider chatted with producer Andrew Lazar who revealed that only Albert will be tackling the job. He’s currently conceptualizing the movie with a group of visual artists and they’ve also hired a screenwriter, Albert Torres (Henry Poole Is Here)

Via Filmschoolrejects, Next stop, those of you who may be fans of AKIRA might think it deserves an R-rated treatment but WB, the studio behind The Dark Knight, thinks PG-13 would suffice.
Albert recently talked on The Kevin and Josh Movie Show on 106.7 HD2 (CBS RADIO – Washington D.C.) and confirmed studio’s intention..

“The first thing they said to me was it had to be PG-13,” Hughes said and then followed up with labeling it as either being “a challenge” or a “hind-ridge.”

Albert also said it’s going to be a challenging task and he may have to strip down a lot of the material just to simplify everything for audiences, so it would be understandable.
About the 2-part plan, Albert said he’s not big on sequels so he might not return for the second part.. he’s just going to focus on the first film

AKIRA, based on anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo’s six-volume graphic novel masterwork, is set in a futuristic post-nuclear war Tokyo in 2019 where a teen biker gang member is subjected to a government experiment which unleashes his latent powers. The gang’s leader must find a way to stop the ensuing swathe of destruction but the movie version has always been planned to be set in “New Manhattan,” a metropolis that was rebuilt after being destroyed 31 years ago.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
