Twilight Tops Fan List For 2009

Twilight Tops Fan List For 2009

The "Twilight" vampire franchise topped a survey of 2009 moviegoers' favorites, but film fans were divided over whether they loved or hated this year's "Transformers" sequel.

A poll on the AOL movie Web site Moviefone.com ranked "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" both the worst of 2009 and the year's best action movie, as well as the second-most disappointing film of the year -- after "Bruno."

And "Transformers" star Megan Fox was overwhelmingly voted both the year's sexiest female actress, and the actress who gave the worst performance of the 2009, according to the poll released Monday.

Whatever the views of Moviefone.com followers, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" grossed more than $834 in ticket sales worldwide to make it the third-most commercially successful movie of 2009, behind "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," according to Boxofficemojo.com.

Voters showed no such ambivalence about "New Moon," the sequel to 2008's blockbuster "Twilight," based on the best-selling young-adult novels by Stephenie Meyer.

Although it ranks No. 6 in 2009 global boxoffice receipts with $662 million so far, "New Moon" was named best movie in the Moviefone poll, drawing 41.1% of the vote. It also was named the year's best "chick flick."

Robert Pattinson was chosen sexiest male star, with 46.5% of the vote, followed by co-star Taylor Lautner (20.1%), who also was voted best male breakout star of 2009.

The next movie in the vampire teen romance series -- "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" -- topped the list of coming attractions Moviefone fans are most excited about seeing in 2010, soundly beating "Iron Man 2" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I."

Summer comedy "The Hangover" was rated the funniest movie of 2009, taking 51.8% of vote, while Disney/Pixar's "Up" was voted best animated film and Sandra Bullock won for best performance by an actress in the surprise hit "The Blind Side."

Movie Review: #Vacation

Vacation makes me want to take a STAY-cation. Review by Matt Cummings It's not too often that a movie makes me wish film never existed, yet her I am ready to give the newest Vacation all the hate it deserves. And hate on it I will. Grown-up Rusty (Ed Helms) is stuck in a dull marriage to Debbie (Christina Applegate), who's been forced year after year to spend vacation with her family at a cabin in Michigan. When the overly optimistic Rusty realizes his family needs a change, he packs them up for a trip to Walley World, the site of his greatest trip as a teen. But soon, his family begins to encounter difficulties and flat-out disasters that could end their road trip and return Rusty's marriage back to square one. It might surprise our readers to know that someone from our team actually considered walking out of Vacation , and we get to see these films for free. That's how bad our experience became as we sat mesmerized by its 99 minutes of ineptit...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
