Blu-ray Disc is the Gen-Y optical disc format that provides ultimate high definition watching experience. As the name signifies, the laser beam reads data in blue instead of Red, which is used in DVDs & CDs. This new blue laser is at the heart of Blu-ray Disc technology (i.e. blue ray of light).
