Ms. Marvel Series Coming To Disney+

Watch Top Gun In 3D With Your VR Headsets On December 29th-30th

We’re excited to announce that we’re working with Paramount Pictures to bring Top Gun in 3D to Bigscreen!

Beginning at 6:00 p.m. EST on December 29th, you’ll be able to watch Top Gun for free with your friends in Bigscreen’s virtual reality movie theater. You’ll be able to choose from multiple showtimes in a 24-hour period between December 29th and December 30th.

Why 3D movies? The first time we watched a 3D movie in Bigscreen, we were blown away. It didn’t feel gimmicky. Nobody got headaches. Subtle hints of depth greatly enhanced the immersion. 3D TVs never took off, but this is different, and you need to experience it to believe it.

Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to watch 3D movies since online video streaming services only provide 2D content. It’s a tedious process to load BluRay discs and watch in Bigscreen. By working directly with movie studios like Paramount, we can provide amazing 3D movies directly to our users, without any additional configuration or hardware.

Why an event with specific showtimes, and not “video-on-demand,” like a streaming service? We want to curate events with amazing 3D movies and video content that people love. Events give VR users a reason to put on the headset every week at a specific time, bringing a critical mass of people online at the same moment and making our social VR events feel alive.

Hanging out with 2–3 friends in Bigscreen is fun, but watching a live Bigscreen event with thousands of fans feels exhilarating.

Bringing the movie theater experience into VR is important for 3 key reasons:
The full immersion of a movie theater is now available in the convenience of your home
Bigscreen’s virtual movie theater is more accessible for people who might not be able to visit a theater physically.

Watching a movie together is fun social activity for friends & family that are physically far apart, so they can watch together in real-time even if they’re not able to visit the physical cinema together.

Everyone loves watching movies and TV shows with friends, and we believe the social VR movie theater is a killer use case that will drive mainstream adoption of VR headsets.

“Bigscreen’s virtual reality platform offers a new way for fans to experience films in their homes. We’re excited to be a part of this experiment using cutting-edge technology to give fans a new entertainment option.”

— Bob Buchi, President Worldwide Home Media Distribution, Paramount Pictures
How it works

On the day of the event, put on your headset and hop into Bigscreen. You can meet up with friends and hang out in our virtual theater lobby, decorated with popcorn concession stands and animated movie posters.

Check out the popcorn machine in the concession area

In the lobby, you’ll see entrances to 4 different showtimes — some of which will be currently playing, and others in the future. To enter a screening, all you need to do is look at the top of a cinema entrance and an 8-second timer will count down before teleporting you and your friends automatically into the cinema.

Bigscreen, the Social VR Movie Theater
If you haven’t tried virtual reality or used Bigscreen before, here’s some context.

Bigscreen utilizes virtual reality to make users feel like they are in a physical movie theater, watching movies on a giant screen with immersive sound and lighting or without needing to leave their home.

With voice chat and avatars, Bigscreen is also a social experience, allowing users in different locations to feel like they are sitting next to their friends watching movies or TV shows, browsing the web, and more.

We’re just getting started.
This is our first major event, and we are planning an exciting content lineup to regularly screen movies, TV shows, and video content in our virtual movie theater each week in 2018.

What you need
You’ll need a supported VR headset such as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, all SteamVR-compatible headsets, and all Windows Mixed Reality headsets. You can download Bigscreen for free from the Oculus Store, Steam Store, or Microsoft Store to join the event.

Due to technical limitations, you’ll need a Windows 10 PC in order to attend the Top Gun screening and this event is available to people in the United States.

Disney Says Bye To Spider-Man In Any Upcoming Films For Now

Deadline is reporting Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige won’t produce any further Spider-Man films because of an inability by Disney and Sony Pictures to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward. A dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, sources said.

This comes at a moment when the last two films Kevin Feige produced broke all-time records — Disney’s Avengers: Endgame became the highest grossing film of all time, and Spider-Man: Far From Home this week surpassed the James Bond film Skyfall to become the all time highest grossing film for Sony Pictures.

Sources said there are two more Spider-Man films in the works that are meant to have director Jon Watts and Tom Holland front and center. Unless something dramatic happens, Feige won’t be the lead creative producer of those pictures.

Enter For A Chance To Win Passes To See BRITTANY RUNS A MARATHON In Sacramento #RunBrittanyRun

Enter For A Chance To Win Passes To See BRITTANY RUNS A MARATHON On August 22nd at 7:00 PM In Sacramento.

Hilarious, outgoing and always up for a good time, New Yorker Brittany Forgler is everybody’s best friend — except maybe her own. At 27, her hard-partying ways, chronic underemployment and toxic relationships are catching up with her, but when she stops by a new doctor’s office to try to score some Adderall, she gets slapped with a prescription she never wanted: Get healthy. Too broke for a gym and too proud to ask for help, Brit is at a loss, until her seemingly together neighbor Catherine pushes her to lace up her Converse sneakers and run one sweaty block. The next day, she runs two. And soon, after finishing her first mile, she sets an almost unthinkable goal: running in the New York City Marathon.
