Blindspotting On Blu-ray Combo Pack Now

Kerry Washington & Eva Longoria Join 24-7

Some movies arrive fully formed, with a script written and actors already attached, primed and ready to shoot. Others come together a little more slowly, piece by piece. A new example of the latter is workplace comedy 24-7, which is being set up for Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington to star.

The idea began life as a pitch by writer Sara Rothschild, though the details are being kept quiet as to what the plot will feature for now. But the idea of a workplace comedy with two recognizable female leads already offers potential overtones of 1980's 9 To 5, set in the era of zero hours contracts and workplaces that, while there have been big steps in equal treatment and pay, still have a fair way to go.

Longoria and Washington will both be producers on the film, now starting its journey through the development chambers en route to trying to lock down a director. Washington, usually found on TV's Scandal will be heard among the cast of Cars 3, due here on 14 July. And Longoria, last seen in Lowriders and on the small screen in Empire, has several films on the way including All-Star Weekend.

Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island, having given up all hope of ever making it home again. But one day everything changes when a corpse named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe) washes up on shore; the two become fast friends…

Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises, The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Hidden Figures) star in Participant Media and DreamWorks Pictures' Green Book. In his foray into powerfully dramatic work as a feature director, Peter Farrelly helms the film inspired by a true friendship that transcended race, class and the 1962 Mason-Dixon line.

When Tony Lip (Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on "The Green Book" to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger—as well as unexpected humanity and humor—they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a …
