The Force Awakens Is The Most Anticipated Film Of 2015

It's likely not a surprise to most people: According to a survey by Fandango, Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens is the most anticipated film of 2015.

Also making the list are Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Lionsgate's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, the adaptation of EL James' Fifty Shades of Grey and Jurassic World.

The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams, will hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow, along with original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.

In its survey of more than 1,000 fans in the last week of December, Fandango also found that Jennifer Lawrence of Hunger Games fame was once again the female fan favorite, while Robert Downey Jr. topped the list for males. Star Wars actress Ridley is the breakout actress of the year, while Fifty Shades actor Jamie Dornan topped the male breakout star list.
