Nine screen-movie theatre complex creates over 250 jobs

Studio Movie Grill (“SMG”) is opening its nineteenth location and first on the West Coast in Rocklin, CA and has already impacted the local economy in significant ways.

Dallas-based Studio Movie Grill has been hard at work on construction at 5140 Commons Drive, Rocklin, CA 95677 to open in time for holiday blockbusters. SMG's newest location, SMG Rocklin, is set to open next month just in time for the much anticipated The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Annie and Night At The Museum: Secret of The Tomb. The 35,000-square foot establishment will be an upscale social destination, encompassing nine screens and 900 seats.

Dozens of local construction workers have been hired to complete the new complex, which will offer customers an enhanced movie-going experience. SMG Rocklin will house an upscale theater featuring spacious auditoriums with fixed lounge seats, individual dining tables and a contemporary casual entry and bar area. The new SMG location will offer a true marriage of hospitality and lounge experiences as SMG continues to innovate fresh ideas into its concept.

“We are excited to be opening our first West Coast location in Rocklin and look forward to offering not only the best in in-theater dining for local residents but also to becoming a true partner in the community and providing our new Rocklin neighborhood numerous economic opportunities,” said Studio Movie Grill CEO & Founder, Brian Schultz.

SMG is actively hiring team members, particularly servers, and looking to fill a number of hourly positions. Once hiring is complete, the theatre will employ more than 250 team members. Prospective employees are welcome to apply in person to General Manager, K.J. Monroe, at the theater at 5140 Commons Drive, Rocklin, CA from 10am-7pm Mon-Sat or through the SMG website at www.studiomoviegrill.com

“We are elated to have Studio Movie Grill Rocklin open in our community and greatly appreciate its investment in Rocklin,” said Mayor Scott Yuill. “The new theater encompassing in-theater dining and movies will be sure to bring many happy patrons to the area and greatly enhance available amenities for both visitors and residents. Our City Council and community partners wish much success.”

SMG is sure to be a major attraction and drive traffic to its new location. The concept has historically proven to be a boon to surrounding retailers through its ability to reinvigorate the area, provide advertising 365 days a year and increase the volume of customers to nearby establishments.

Movie Review: #Vacation

Vacation makes me want to take a STAY-cation. Review by Matt Cummings It's not too often that a movie makes me wish film never existed, yet her I am ready to give the newest Vacation all the hate it deserves. And hate on it I will. Grown-up Rusty (Ed Helms) is stuck in a dull marriage to Debbie (Christina Applegate), who's been forced year after year to spend vacation with her family at a cabin in Michigan. When the overly optimistic Rusty realizes his family needs a change, he packs them up for a trip to Walley World, the site of his greatest trip as a teen. But soon, his family begins to encounter difficulties and flat-out disasters that could end their road trip and return Rusty's marriage back to square one. It might surprise our readers to know that someone from our team actually considered walking out of Vacation , and we get to see these films for free. That's how bad our experience became as we sat mesmerized by its 99 minutes of ineptit...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
