One night before WrestleMania 31 tickets go on sale worldwide, members of the WWE Universe in the San Francisco Bay Area had their chance to meet Superstars and score seats to “The Showcase of the Immortals” at the official WrestleMania On Sale Party.
SandwichJohnFilms.com sent our ballsy correspondent Holzfeuer to cover the event where he scored an exclusive interview with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan. While Holzfeuer is known internationally amongst followers of underground music as the lead vocalist of action adventure rock band ArnoCorps, he’s also a long-time follower of sports entertainment and pro wrestling enthusiast.
“The ability to pump up a crowd and tell a story with pure physicality is a powerful thing, let me tell you,” said Holzfeuer. “My approach to performing live is more heavily influenced by the legends of the squared circle than it is by singers, no two ways about it, right there.”
The WWE event took place Friday, Nov. 14 at Intel Plaza at Levi’s® Stadium. In addition to Daniel Bryan, other WWE Superstars and Divas on hand to sign autographs were Bad News Barrett, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte, Rosa Mendes and Tyler Breeze. Also making a special appearance were WWE Hall of Famers “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart.
“I was given VIP access upstairs along with other members of the media,” reported Holzfeuer. “The catering, the drinks, all these kinds of things. When I arrived, Hulk Hogan was taking photographs while Booker T, Wade Barrett, Rosa Mendes and Nature Boy Rik Flair’s daughter, Charlotte, were mingling with the press and a few lucky fans. Due to being misdirected by some of the stadium’s staff, I got up there late, so the performers were ushered out of the room shortly after I arrived. Maybe they sensed my ballsy attitude and evacuated? Haha! Forget about it!”
“Despite the fantastic spread of food up there, I headed downstairs to catch the scene outside where lines formed for the autographs and presentations were given from stage, introductions of the superstars and all this. There was also a giant screen showing highlights of Wrestlemania 30. Interviews were officially over, but I stuck around and requested an exclusive with Daniel Brian, which I was finally granted! Fantastic! Daniel Bryan could not have been friendlier. The man had to be burned out by then, after the day’s festivities and nonstop interaction with press and fans, but he showed no sign of it. I felt like we could have hung out and chatted for hours, but I let him off the hook. Fantastic.”
