BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Why We Love The New CW Series Reign!

Why We Love The New CW Series Reign!
By: AprilFaithSpice

You might have heard that today, The CW Network announced that it has given full season's to it's new series, The Vampire Diaries Spin-off "The Originals", The Tomorrow People and lastly "Reign".

I started watching this new show Reign on accident really, It premiered after The Vampire Diaries a few weeks ago and I was instantly intrigued and set my DVR to record new episodes. Now a few weeks in, It is probably the show I look forward to watching the most every week and most often watch it live! (Who does that anymore?)

Let me tell you a little about the show and what I love about it. Adelaide Kane stars as sixteen-year-old Mary, Queen of Scots as she tries to cement her alliance with France by marrying Prince Francis (Toby Regbo). The task at hand sounds simple but oh no it's not. The show mixes magic, love triangles, affairs, murder, and all sorts of drama to keep the people intrigued. Granted History buff's are not going to be fan's of the show. The accents are a bit off as far as who is supposed to be: English, Scottish, French etc. The costumes are not necessarily time period accurate, and the music most certainly isn't from the 16th century... But let me tell you... THIS is what I love about it. (Okay not the inaccurate accents, but the rest)
Adelaide Kane is GORGEOUS and wears some fantastic dresses to match, along with her hand maiden's brought to her from Scottland they get to dress in the most awesome costumes. I don't care if they aren't high collars like what the Actual Queen of Scott's would have worn because they are FABULOUS and it makes me want to go play dress up.

The mix of a more modern costume department and soundtrack (The Lumineers, Joshua Radin, Bastille, and London Grammar to name a few) remind me SO much of "Knight's Tale" (one of my favorite movies starring the late Heath Ledger). I love love love a period show or movie with a contemporary or modern twist. I don't know why it appeals to me so much but it does.

The plot every week seems to deepen and twist with Mary wanting to do what is best for her country yet follow her heart and be young at the same time. There are some scary/creepy aspects of the show that I haven't quite figured out yet. (A Ghost maybe? That resembles the Scarecrow from Batman Begins). Nostradamus, the Queen of France's right hand man for advice and foreseeing the future. The King of France and his love of a Mistress.

And how can I forget the BOYS. No article of mine would be the same without some sort of opinion about the eye candy in the show, am I right ladies? Let me just say that there is plenty. With Tony Regbo as the Prince of France, and Torrance Coombs as the King's bastard child Bash... That is just the beginning of the lookers!

This show is also no stranger to actors that might look familiar to you. Megan Follows who plays Queen Catherine of France might remind you of someone because she was "Anne of Greene Gables". Anna Popwell also played "Susan" in the popular "Chronicles of Narnia" movies.

All in all, I give the show a solid B+. It's keeping my interest for now. Has my excited for the following week's episode and loving the chemistry of the actors! Check it out!

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
