The high-larious film will hit 50+ theaters in cities across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Miami, St. Louis and Houston. The legendary comedy team has also baked up a bag full of songs for the film’s soundtrack, available through all digital retailers April 9. A blazin’ new animated and celebrity-studded music video for the album’s track “Cheech and Chong Anthem (WEed Are the World™),” featuring animated cameos from the likes of Mary Jane enthusiasts, Zach Galifianakis, Kid Cudi, Whoopi Goldberg, Wiz Khalifa, George Lopez, Bill Maher, B-Real, Willie Nelson, and more, drops April 15.

Following the theatrical release, fans can grab a copy of CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE on Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment April 23.

The animation for CHEECH & CHONG’S ANIMATED MOVIE was produced entirely at Los Angeles based Chambers Bros. Animation. The film was produced by Lou Adler, Branden Chambers, Eric D. Chambers and Houston Curtis. Theatrical distribution was managed by D&E Entertainment.

ABOUT CHEECH AND CHONG
With nine albums released from 1972 through 1985, the duo was nominated for four GRAMMY Awards, winning the GRAMMY Award for Best Comedy Album with their third album, Los Cochinos, released in 1973. Big Bambu, their second album, was the biggest selling comedy record of all time in 1972 and remained so for many years. Their stunningly successful comedy streak transitioned to film in 1978 with their first movie, Up In Smoke the highest grossing comedy of the year, topping $100 million at the box office. Cheech and Chong co-wrote and starred in a total of eight feature films together. In 2008, audiences were thrilled when the legendary Cheech and Chong reunited after 25 years apart, and embarked on the “Light Up America” comedy tour. The pop culture duo performed for more than 100 shows and quickly became one of the most sought after live shows.
