Trailer For M Night Shyamalan’s "After Earth"

It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything of M Night Shyamalan’s latest, After Earth, which boasts a double dose of the Will Smith-spawned family.

The film is set a thousand years after humanity has abandoned the planet, following years of pollution, over-mining and generally abusing mother Earth.

Given how bad Earth-that-was became, Nova Prime is now our species’ new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies badly injured in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance…

 Earth has since begun to recover from the ravages of our residence, but Kitai will have to quickly learn that everything on the planet has evolved to kill humans.
