BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Director Bekmambetov Talks Wanted 2

For a while now, the sequel to Mark Millar comic adaptation Wanted has been seemingly lost in limbo, unable to find its way as director Timur Bekmambetov concentrated on other projects. But now, according to the director himself, it has stepped up a gear thanks to some new plot ideas.

Speaking with The Playlist, Bekmambetov revealed that things are still very much moving forward on the film. "An unbelievable thing happened three weeks ago," Bekmambetov says. "Because we stopped, we didn't know what to do for three or four years. Three weeks ago I came up with a great idea and I pitched this idea and everybody fell in love with it. And now I think we're on track. Right now the writer is working on the script, and it will be shocking."

Shocking, eh? Well, that would only be fair for a sequel to a film that deployed crazed action set pieces, had Morgan Freeman swearing like he’s Samuel L Jackson and – spoiler alert! – offed several of the higher profile names in the cast, including Angelina Jolie, at the end.

According to Bekmambetov, we won’t be seeing any sudden resurrections or cheats to bring people back. "It's a continuation of the story, with Wesley Gibson, he says, referring to James McAvoy’s main character. "Other people are dead, you know, we can't bring them back. The story is the same character, same mythology, but it's got a great twist."

As to when we might actually see the movie hit cinemas, that’s anyone’s guess. Still, if you need a hit of Bekmambetov’s trademark frenetic style, his latest, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, will be out this week.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
