Clint Eastwood Talks Casting DiCaprio,Theron & Dench For Upcoming J. Edgar Film

Eastwood Talks Casting For Upcoming Film J. Edgar

The star were aligned for the Sandwich last night during the Red Carpet for the California Hall Of Fame induction. First I got an interview with The Man, James Cameron, which is hard for a small website like mine with no money behind it, just hard work. And as you can tell Hard Work does pay off.

From a a distance a cloud of dust over takes the red carpet. And I hear the theme from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. No, it can't be, the a misty cloud comes over the area and I hear "Go ahead, make my day". Well, not really, but Clint Eastwood appears and I had no clue he was going to attend the ceremony.

I was so unprepared for this one. Mr. Eastwood walked the Red Carpet, taking a time out to talk to James Cameron. Again the BIG dogs get their chance to get the first crack at him. There was no way I was going to let this once in a life time chance to talk to Dirty Harry, pass me bye...

The first thing I have to say is that Clint Eastwood is a SUPER nice guy and very charming person. Now onto the questions and trust me I have a few good ones:

Read my Exclusive after the Jump..

I asked him about his casting for the upcoming Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover biopic (Which has been retitled J. Edgar) and how he went about casting Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover.

Eastwood- The script is a very good script and we were all preparing it and he liked the the script. He actually volunteered for it.

And the casting of Charlize Theron for the film?

Eastwood- We think she will be in the film (With a smile.) And Judi Dench is definitely in the film and there we are.

I thanked him as he shook my hand and made his way down the carpet.

Mr. Eastwood was induced into the The California Hall of Fame in 2006 along with César Chávez, Walt Disney, Amelia Earhart,Frank Gehry, David Ho, M.D., Billie Jean King, John Muir, Ronald Reagan, Sally Ride, Alice Walker and the Hearst and Packard

This event is starting to get bigger and bigger as the years have gone on. I am very curious to attend next years induction to see who will be honored and with Arnold Schwarzenegger leaving office to see if it will it have an effect on the people who are inducted?

About Us

SANDWICHJOHNFILMS started in 2009. I wanted to make a place where people like myself could come and get up to date Movie, Television and pop culture news and information. The site started as a passion of mine and grew into what it is today.

Our goal here is to give you the most accurate news and information when it hits the web. I don't post what the studio wants or asked me to post, I post stories and interviews I would want to read myself. I will bring you Exclusive interviews with the star makers in Hollywood with a little twist of Sandwich.

When we do our Movie, Television and Book reviews they are written from our point of view. We are not professional movie critics and we do not get payed if we write a positive review or a negative. It is our point of view and take it with a grain of salt. We are like you, everyday working people who love Movies and Television.
