Superman Reboot Casting Rumors

Superman Casting Rumors

With Armie Hammer reportedly out of the running and the jury still out on Jon Hamm's potential, the rumored casting pool for director Zack Snyder's "Superman" relaunch is surprisingly thin -- though three new names, however unlikely, have just joined the mix.

Examiner reports that wrestling icons Dwayne Johnson and John Cena are two of the front runners to fill out Clark Kent's shoes for Snyder's upcoming film. But without any other official word, it's more than likely that these rumors are just that -- rumors.

But there's another rumor that has at least a little bit more weight: "True Blood" actor Joe Manganiello is reportedly a contender for Superman, according to a pretty reliable source... himself!

The actor supposedly spilled the beans that he's in contention for the "Superman" reboot during an appearance at EyeCon in Florida this past weekend, according to True-Blood.net. But Manganiello quickly took to his Twitter account to dispel the rumors, saying that he's not in negotiations for the part, even if his interest in the character is quite apparent.

"Just to be clear... as of today, I am not 'negotiating' to play Superman," he wrote. "But keep your fingers crossed and thanks for the wishful thinking!"

Although Manganiello might be the likeliest contender of the three most recently mentioned actors, it's still premature to consider him the frontrunner for our next Man of Steel.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
