We Have Our Sarah Conner. It's Emilia Clarke

After taming dragons on “Game of Thrones,” Emilia Clarke is preparing to fight cyborgs as she will portray Sarah Connor in Paramount, Skydance and Annapurna’s “Terminator” reboot.

Clarke, along with Brie Larson, tested for the part but sources say that the “Thrones” star was the early favorite. Sources said the studio was also interested in Margot Robbie, but she never read for the part.

Clarke’s deal closed Friday.

Thor: the Dark World” helmer Alan Taylor is directing the film with Skydance and Annapurna co-financing along with the studio with David Ellison producing for Skydance and sibling Megan Ellison producing for Annapurna. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier penned the script.

Plot details have not been revealed other than the project serving as the first film in a stand alone trilogy.

Zero Dark Thirty” star Jason Clarke began negotiations this week to play the iconic role of John Connor, the son of Sarah Connor.

Besides Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger is also set to come back. The focus will now turn to casting Kyle Reese, who was played by Michael Biehn in the original.

Names of actors who are of interest are Garrett Hedlund, Nicholas Hoult and Boyd Holbrook.

The “Terminator” reboot is set to bow July 1, 2015, through Paramount. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake are exec producing.

For Emilia Clarke, the role marks here first franchise pic since breaking out on the HBO drama as Daenerys Targaryen. The British thesp was most recently seen in “Dom Hemingway” with Jude Law.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
