Cast Announced For Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom

DreamWorks had just announced a great cast line-up for their upcoming CGI animated sequel Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom. And here is the line-up, Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Jean Claude Van Damme and Victor Garber will join the original cast members Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and James Hong.

I really enjoyed the first Kung Fu Panda film, and it would be nice for this sequel to be just as fun and entertaining.

Oldman will take on the role of the new villain in the movie named Lord Shen who ahppens to be a peacock. Yeoh will play the mystical character of The Soothsayer which is a goat. Van Damme and Garber round out the cast as Master Croc and Master Thundering Rhino. Of course they would!

Here is a description of the film as described by producer Melissa Cobb.

In the sequel, Po goes on an amazing personal journey and we are thrilled to have assembled such a talented and well-respected group of actors to bring to life our new characters, who - alongside our returning cast - play such a critical role in Po's quest and his ultimate triumph over the forces of evil.
From the Press Release:

During its theatrical run in 2008, "Kung Fu Panda" - DreamWorks Animation's most successful original film ever - reached over $631 million in worldwide box office. The sequel will follow Po, the world's biggest kung fu fan, as he continues his journey as the chosen one who fulfills an ancient prophesy while mastering the art of kung fu. "Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom" is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and produced by Melissa Cobb. Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, who wrote and co-produced the original film, also return.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
