BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Hitman's Bodyguard On Top Again

It was a slooooow weekend at the US box office, with little in the way of truly notable wide releases. Which might go some way to explaining why The Hitman's Bodyguard stayed top of the charts. The Ryan Reynolds/Samuel L. Jackson action caper added $10 million, according to studio estimates.

That means the film has thus far earned $39.6 million in the States, and clung to its place for a second week. Annabelle: Creation also stayed where it was in second, bringing in $7.3 million. The first of this week's main new arrivals was animated ballet pic Leap!, which landed third on $5 million. It beat Wind River, which increased its screen count and jumped up the top 10 to fourth with $4.4 million. Rounding out the top five we find Logan Lucky, down from third with $4.3 million.

Dunkirk dropped to sixth on $3.9 million, while Spider-Man: Homecoming showed sticking power at seventh with $2.7 million. Eighth was the week's second newcomer, Bruce Lee drama Birth Of The Dragon, taking in $2.5 million.

The Emoji Movie fell to ninth, earning $2.3 million, while success story Girls Trip slipped to 10th and $2.2 million, with sequel chatter already circling the comedy.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
