BLAKE LIVELY UNCOVERS ‘THE HUSBAND’S SECRET’

CBS Films announced today that Blake Lively (The Shallows, The Age of Adeline) will executive produce and star in the theatrical motion picture adaptation of THE HUSBAND’S SECRET. Based on the acclaimed bestselling novel by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) the adaptation is being produced by Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano via their Depth of Field production shingle along with Lively.

“Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation,” commented Terry Press, President, CBS Films. Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a busy wife, mother and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years...a secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder.

THE HUSBAND’S SECRET was published by Amy Einhorn Books and quickly became a #1 New York Times Bestseller. WME, Justin Grey Stone at Management 360 and attorney Jeff Bernstein at Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein represent Blake Lively. Jerry Kalajian of Intellectual Property Group, Fiona Inglis Curtis Brown Australia and Faye Bender represent Moriarty. Mark Ross and Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.

Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
