BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Review: Sacramento's Monster Jam Triple Threat Series

Sacramento’s Monster Jam Review:

Sandwiched in between massive Monster Trucks and flying shrapnel, we bared witness to mass destruction within the Sleep Train Arena. The Monster Jam tour stopped nearby
first-ever motorsports event appearance in Sacramento’s new downtown venue, Golden 1 Center, for three action-packed events from Friday, January 20th with avery impressive Monster Jam truck line-up. The Monster Jam Teams were Grave Digger® driven by Cole Venard, Max-D® driven by Jared Eichelberger, El Toro Loco® driven by Mark List, Monster Mutt® Dalmation* driven by Cynthia Gauthier, Zombie™ driven by Tyler Groth, New Earth AuthoritySM (N.E.A.) driven by Travis Groth, Scooby-Doo™ driven by rookie Myranda Cozad and Mohawk Warrior* driven by rookie Bryce Kenny.

I brought my two kids and their cousin, who loves Grave Digger, so he naturally took quite the liking to this iconic truck  All were thrilling to see jump over dirt ramps, high into the air and often crash, flip, blow out a tire or take on other forms of abuse.

Unlike any other Monster Jam event, the Monster Jam Triple Threat Series is the definitive test of endurance, versatility and driving skills that showcases these premiere athletes as they go head-to-head in seven unique endurance competitions driving three different vehicles: Monster Jam trucks, Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs; ultimately battling for points in both racing and freestyle events that push themselves and their machines to the limit.

This was my first Monster Truck show and even though I was warned that it would be loud, I didn’t expect it to be louder than a heavy metal concert. It was! So if you are planning on going soon, be sure the little ones have well-working, noise-reducing headphones. Although at times the sound bordered on annoying, the thrilling truck-jumps and destruction overshadowed the eardrum abuse. While our ears suffered a bit, our eyes were rewarded. extreme Truck freestyling, fast spinning donuts, and wheelies kept us firmly planted in our seats.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
