BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#WeAreXFilm Wins World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award – Editing At @sundancefest

Passion Pictures “We Are X” Wins World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award – Best Editing at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival Awards.

“We Are X,” the documentary produced by two-time Academy Award winner John Battsek (Searching For Sugarman, Listen To Me Marlon,) of Passion Films and directed by Stephen Kijack (Stones In Exile, Scott Walker: 30th Century Man) won the Special Jury Award for Best Editing at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival Awards on Saturday night January 20th in Park City, UT.

The film, edited by Mako Kamitsuna and John Maringuoin and assisted by June Okada earned rousing ovations during its five Sundance screenings throughout the week.

At the premiere screening, X Japan’s leader, Yoshiki, was clearly moved after seeing the film for the first time with an audience. "In this movie the dark doors in my past that I had closed became an entrance to the future,” he said. “If there wasn't music, I wouldn't be here today. Also, if the band members wouldn't have been there, I don't think I would be here now."

In addition to the screenings, X Japan’s leader Yoshiki, performed live at venues including the official Sundance Festival Base Camp and at the ASCAP Cafe playing classical versions of the band’s songs with a string quartet.

After Saturday’s “We Are X” film premiere, Chef Dance hosted a dinner honoring the film prepared by Los Angeles-based chef Louis Tikaram (EP & LP). The dinner and party featured guests including actors Octavia Spencer, Donovan Leitch and Julliette Lewis along with singers Josh Groban and Keb’ Mo.

Following the dinner, DJ/Producer Balthazar Getty and EDM pioneer DJ Paul Oakenfold entertained guests at the premiere party.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
