BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Chris Evans & Jared Leto Could Join The Girl on the Train

Variety is reporting Chris Evans and Jared Leto are in early talks to board DreamWorks’ adaptation of “The Girl on the Train.”

The duo joins Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett in the adaptation of the Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel.

Sources indicate negotiations are still ongoing, and that schedules and finances still have to be figured out.

The story follows a woman (Blunt) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect couple who lives in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the married couple.

If the deals go through, Evans would play Ferguson’s husband and Leto would play Bennett’s husband.

Tate Taylor is directing from Cressida Wilson’s script. Marc Platt will produce the film, while Jared LeBoff of Marc Platt Prods. will serve as executive producing.

While Evans reached A-list levels for playing Steve Rogers in Marvel’s “Captain America” and “Avengers” movies, the actor has also starred in darker passion projects like The Weinstein Co.’s “Snowpiercer” and Searchlight’s upcoming drama “Gifted,” which Marc Webb is directing. Evans most recently made his directorial debut with “Before I Go,” in which he starred opposite Alice Eve.

Leto is following his Oscar-winning performance in “Dallas Buyers Club” as the Joker in Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad,” which bows next summer.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
