BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Say Hello To The Griswold's

Esquire scored the first official image from the National Lampoon's Vacation reboot.

The Powers That Be have wanted to remake 1983's Chevy Chase-led National Lampoon's Vacation since 2009, if not before. Despite a string of sex-crazed, low-rent, direct-to-DVD excuses-for-movies sullying the Lampoon film brand throughout the late '90s and 2000s, a new Vacation movie was top priority.

The goal was to bring Chase's Clark Griswold back as a grandfather. Brilliant! Or, logical enough. The idea percolated. It was happening. Then it wasn't? Then it was. Ed Helms joined the rumor party in 2012, supposedly taking on the role of Clark Griswold's son Rusty. Then the idea faded. Maybe people didn't really wan—WAIT HOLD ON. Like a Christmas bonus arriving in miracle time, a Vacation-loving studio executive packed up the reboot's bags and hit the road towards your local multiplex. The movie was happening, with Chase, Helms, Beverly D'Angelo, and Christina Applegate playing the pair of bonding fathers and mothers.

Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writing duo behind Horrible Bosses and The Incredible Burtwonderstone, the seuquel boot, simply titled Vacation, is officially scheduled for July 31, 2015.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
