BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Raid Actor Joe Taslim Added To The Cast Of Fast And Furious 6

After displaying fast and furious martial arts chops in "The Raid," Indonesian thesp Joe Taslim has been tapped by director Justin Lin to join the cast of Universal's 2013 tentpole "Fast and Furious 6."

Taslim will play the villainous role of Jah, a cold-blooded killer who uses his martial arts and parkour skills to fight the pic's protags, led by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.

Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez are set to return for the sequel, which has added new blood in the form of MMA fighter Gina Carano and villain Luke Evans.

Plot details are scant, but sources say it would involve the crew heading overseas to work on a heist job that Evans' rival crew has already staked out.

"Fast Five" helmer Lin is returning to direct from a script by Chris Morgan. Neal Moritz will produce through his Original Film banner along with Diesel and Clayton Townsend. Pic will bow over Memorial Day weekend on May 24 next year.

A Judo martial arts champ, Taslim was discovered by director Gareth Evans, who promptly cast him as one of the leads in his hit action pic "The Raid," which Sony acquired last year at Toronto and released earlier this year.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
