BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D Press Conference At Comic-Con 2012

We had the pleasure of covering the press conference for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D at Comic-Con 2012.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is the second film in the Silent Hill series, directed by Michael Barrett (Solomon Kane) and starring a talented mix of veteran actors (Sean Bean, Carrie Ann Moss) and newcomers Adeliade Clemens. At our interview with Barrett and Clemens, we learned that the film will follow the events of the successful video game, focusing on the realization that Heather Mason (Clemens) is not who she appears and the role which the town of Silent Hill will play.

Clemens talked about the appeal of her character and the franchise in general. “The psychological journey of Heather was appealing. There was so much to sink my teeth into. I was really satisfied on all levels.” She also discussed the physical challenges, but had good overall feelings about the shoot. “I loved every minute of it."

When asked about shooting a film entirely in 3D (as opposed to creating the effect in post-production), Barrett insisted that audiences should see the film in 3D, and that fan favorites like the drifting ash scene in the first Silent Hill are in general better suited for upgraded format. He discussed how 3D scenes always look better when action is slowed, but that the effect can also be changed when focusing on his actors.

Barrett also shared that the composer Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) will be crafting the music (along with Jeff Dana) and is also serving as sound designer. The effect will create “a singular audio identity” for the film but Barrett also admitted, “There was no way I was doing Silent Hill without Akira!”

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D opens in theatres on October 26th.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is an upcoming American 3D horror film due to release on October 26, 2012. Written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, Revelation 3D is based on the survival horror video game Silent Hill 3 and a sequel to the horror film Silent Hill, which is an adaptation of the video game of the same name.

Revelation 3D's plot follows teenager Heather Mason, who discovers, on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, that her presumed identity is false and, as a result, is drawn to an alternate dimension existing in the fictional American town of Silent Hill.

Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) and her father, Christopher Da Silva (Sean Bean), have been evading for years forces of a nature that she does not fully recognize. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, plagued by nightmares and Christopher's disappearance, she discovers that her presumed identity is false and her life's origins too. This revelation leads her to an alternate dimension existing in Silent Hill, in which a cult led by Claudia Wolf (Carrie-Anne Moss) and the insane Leonard Wolf (Malcolm McDowell) resides. Heather is accompanied by a man named Vincent (Kit Harington). Characters Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) and Dahlia Gillespie (Deborah Kara Unger) from the first Silent Hill film adaptation will also appear in the film.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
