Apart from a decidedly not-from-the-books obsession with cars (at certain points you might think you’re watching a promo for the next Fast & Furious franchise outing), it definitely seems that Cruise is going all out to prove he’s got what it takes to embody Lee Child’s hard nut former MP.
Adapted from the book One Shot, Reacher finds the man with a mental alarm clock in his head digging into the case of a series of sniper attacks in a US city. The prime suspect is a former military man himself who claims innocence and orders his defence team to get Reacher’s services. The case seems like a slam-dunk, but there’s the small matter of one of the shots missing its target. And soon Mr Jack realises there is much more to the whole affair...
With Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog and David Oyelowo also among the cast, Jack Reacher smashes its way into our cinemas on December 28.
