JOHN LENNON HANDWRITTEN LYRICS FOR "LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS" TO BE AUCTIONED OFF BY PROFILES IN HISTORY.

PROFILES IN HISTORY HOLLYWOOD AUCTION 44 MAY 14 & 15, SABAN THEATER, BEVERLY HILLS

John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band to be auctioned off by Profiles in History, run by Joe Maddalena, on May 14 & 15 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA. John Lennon's draft of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" contains the opening lyrics to the song that was first inspired by his son Julian's nursery school drawing that he called by the same name (contrary to the belief that the title had a hidden reference to the drug LSD). Along with the lyrics are designs for the album cover and some "rocking horse people," and it is estimated to sell for $200,000 to $300,000. The song is regarded as one of the best songs from the Sgt. Pepper album that is regarded as one of the most important albums in the history of popular music.

Profiles in History Hollywood Auction 44 will have some of the most highly coveted cultural memorabilia to ever reach the marketplace. In upcoming releases we will detail esteemed film director Frank Darabont, world-renowned poster artist Drew Struzan and special effects and makeup wizard Greg Nicotero's donation of their lots' proceeds to the Red Cross for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. Other items up for auction include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the hero filming Chitty car estimated at $1,000,000 - 2,000,000, a historic handwritten letter from Walt Disney written in 1924 to Mickey Mouse creator Ub Iwerks urging him to come out to Hollywood to be Disney's lead animator. There will be over 1,600 lots between the two days of the auction with more highlights to be released shortly.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
