More Casting News For Marvel's Thor Movie

More Casting News For Marvel's Thor Movie

Movie is shaping quite well now. Here are some new additions to the movie.

Jaimie Alexander (Kyle XY) and Colm Feore (The Chronicles of Riddick) have joined the cast of Thor, based on the Marvel Comics franchise, joining Star Trek's Chris Hemsworth in the Kenneth Branagh-directed movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hemsworth will play the Norse god. Tom Hiddleston plays Loki, the god of mischief, who serves as the movie's villain, and Natalie Portman is Thor's human love, Jane Foster, the trade paper reported:

In Marvel's epic fantasy, Alexander is playing Sif, a skilled Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man. She also is one of Thor's loves.

Feore's character is shrouded in mystery—the studio isn't even sending the actors the script—though it is known to be a villain.

The movie's story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions re-ignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
