Paramount Home Entertainment Give Aways At San Diego Comic Con

Paramount Home Entertainment (PHE) will be taking Comic-Con attendees to the final frontier and beyond for out-of-this-world fun celebrating some of the year’s hottest films. Highlights at PHE's booth #3535 include:

* At the PHE booth fans can be photographed at the helm of the Enterprise, fraternize with galactic green girls and enter to win a limited edition Captain’s chair to build anticipation for the DVD and Blu-ray debut of Star Trek. Trekkers can “multiply” their fun at the Con this year by picking up a Tribble at the PHE booth and submitting images of themselves and their furry friend at the exclusive Tribble Gallery on CBS-BDLive.com (read our story HERE).

* Visitors can get a 3D photo with B.O.B., the gelatinous hero from DreamWorks Animation’s Monsters vs Aliens, who will also make a live appearance on family day (Sunday). Plus, the booth will feature loads of giveaways for other upcoming home entertainment releases, including the box office behemoth Transformers and demos of new games including Star Trek PSN and Warriors XBLA.

* The co-creators and stars of Comedy Central’s irreverent hit Drawn Together will be on an animated panel Thursday, July 23 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in Room 6BCF. Foxxy Love, Cree Summer (Transformers: Animated) and Wooldoor Sockbat/The Jew Producer, James Arnold Taylor (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) will discuss their new film, The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!, and also host a round table discussion on the politics of religion in the workplace, where to get a decent sandwich and more.

* On Friday, July 24, PHE will host a happy hour to toast the DVD debut of Road Trip: Beer Pong on August 11. Featuring beer pong girls, games and beverages, the event will take place at Henry’s Irish Pub in the nearby Gaslamp district at 614 5th Ave from 4pm to 7pm.

* PHE is also sponsoring prize packages for the ever-popular Masquerade Ball with loads of DVDs being awarded to the Best Hero or Villain and the Best Youth costume. Don’t miss the Ball on Saturday, July 25th starting at 8:30 pm in Ballroom 20.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
