BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

True Blood Recap S07E01: Jesus Gonna Be Here

The final season kicks off. By: Sue Lukenbaugh It’s been a love affair from the beginning, and now its all coming to an end. Excuse me while I get some tissues. Ah, the disappointments of season six, the rise (again) of Bill Compton and the quick death of Warlow. There was also Vamp Camp, Jessica’s downward spiral and quest for redemption, along with Lettie Mae’s and the Hep V vampires. Now. The Hep V vampires tear apart the BBQ. Vampires are working along side of humans trying to get them to safety away from the Hep V vampires. One Hep V vampire gets a good whiff of Sookie, and wonder what she is. Tara saves her mama. Kevin is ripped away by vampires. Sam loses his Baby Mama, and goes all canine after her. Before Sookie can be attacked, a piercing whistle sounds as Bill arrives, and the Hep V vampires are called away. Jason tries to deliver the casualty report, but she can’t stop to listen, as she hears Lettie Mae’s wails, her baby Tara is gone. Oh, tissues. I

Tyrant Television Review – Pilot

Is the new FX show worth your time? Review by Brandon Wolfe  California-based pediatrician Bassam “Barry” Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner) is feeling uneasy. He and his family have been invited to attend his nephew’s wedding and he hasn’t seen his relatives in many years. He is apprehensive about the impending family reunion and alludes to a rough upbringing. This seems like a perfectly relatable issue until you take into account that Bassam’s father is the president of the (fictional) war-torn Middle Eastern country of Abbudin and that those rough childhood memories include assassination attempts and street executions. Bassam’s reluctant homecoming is the catalyst of FX’s new series ‘Tyrant’ as he, his wife Molly (Jennifer Finnigan) and two teenage children, closeted son Sammy (Noah Silver) and dismissive daughter Emma (Anne Winters), make the trek to Abbudin. Molly, as all-American-blonde as is humanly possible, has grown weary of Bassam’s increasing distance and believe

Welcome to Mad Max: Fury Road!

New plot details emerge and EW's released a cover. While many SJF writers tend to chide yours truly over the my use of the word 'dystopian' to describe the onslaught of post-apocalyptic films over the past year, one cannot argue that it works. Unfortunately, not all dystopian films have met with great success, including this year's bomb Transcendence . But luckily, the film that made 'post-apocalyptic' a household word is soon returning, and Entertainment Weekly has all the details. Mad Max: Fury Road is a continuation of George Miller's classic series, which has become nothing short of a cult classsic. Starring Mel Gibson in the titular role, the series dealt with the former cop Max driving through the wilds of Australia, searching for fuel and attacking the various gangs which took over as the government collapsed. Mad Max has been on a long hiatus, but Fury Road looks to return the series back to where it's meant to be: on top. Test screen

War Games Reboot Gets a New Writer and Director

See who's involved in the newest spin on the 80's classic. One year before 1984's The Terminator , a little cautionary film called War Games arrived, ushering in a new wave of movies featuring computers going serious awry. The original starred Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy as teenagers who stumble across a computer that's in charge of launching ICBM's during a nuclear war. The film was a commercial success, but a reboot has been a long time coming. Early reports saw Director Seth Gordon was originally chosen to head the reboot, but The Wrap now reports that MGM has hired Dean Israelite. Additionally, they've announced Arash Amel will write the script. With so many directors promising to bring this project back to life over the years, it would seem like a no-brainer. However, we all know how long some of these take before the right mix of people come together. MGM has done several reboots now, including Carrie , Red Dawn , and RoboCop , each w

Mockingjay Viral Video - Hail President Snow

The latest viral video from the film sends a strong message to Panem. For those of us who have enjoyed the films based on the successful Hunger Games books, Mockingjay represents the beginning of the end, a time when the 12 districts rebel against the mother district. And while we're waiting for an official trailer, Lionsgate has released a fun viral that shows just how desperate the Capitol is to keep the disricts in line, while offering a startling surprise. As you can see above, the latest piece of propaganda to be aired on Capitol TV is an address from President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland), who plays the ruthless ruler of Panem. But what's most surprising is the addition of Hunger Games survivor Peeta Mellark, who is supposed to be helping the rebellion. This harkens back to Return of the Jedi , when non other than Luke Skywalker was featured next his father and enemy Darth Vader. In age before the Internet, that scene generated intense buzz leading

Watch the Trailer for Fury

The trailer for Brad Pitt's WWII tank movie has arrived. Writer/director David Ayer has had it rough as of late. The creator of the highly-acclaimed End of Watch struck out big time with Arnold Schwarzenegger's Sabotage , but now the Oscar-winner is back with a look at the final year of WWII. He goes back in time for the goes back in time with the upcoming historical thriller Fury . The trailer, which can be viewed below, offers up a 300-esque showdown involving an American tank against hundreds of German soldiers. In the trailer, we can see Ayer's trademark gritty style, but it's his writing that fans are most hopeful to witness. The story tells of Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman), who served under Sergeant Wardaddy’s (Brad Pitt) tank crew, as the team fights through the final bloddy days of the war. There seems to be a strong Band of Brothers theme occurring here as well. Ayer is no stranger to WWII films - he wrote U-571 , which strayed away from fact
