Sandra Bullock Makes Box Office History

Sandra Bullock Makes Box Office History Sandra Bullock rang in the new year making box office history. Some time over the weekend, Bullock starrer "The Blind Side" became the first pic in history driven solely by a top female star to jump the $200 million mark at the domestic B.O. To be precise, the film finished the frame with a cume of $208.5 million in its seventh week in release. Over the weekend, it rose a remarkable 10% over the previous week, and it's still got plenty of life left, according to Warner Bros. prexy of domestic distribution Dan Fellman. "Blind Side" was fully financed and produced by Alcon Entertainment. The project was brought in by Molly Smith, daughter of Alcon backer Fred Smith, founder of FedEx. It's hard to believe, but none of the previous films in which Bullock had top solo billing had reached $200 million, nor have any of the solo starring efforts of the likes of Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie or Reese Witherspoon.

Julie Benz Moves Into Wisteria Lane. Newest Desperate Housewives Cast Member

Julie Benz Moves Into Wisteria Lane. Newest Desperate Housewives Cast Member Now I finally have a reason to watch the show after all these years. Julie Benz has bounced back from her shocking Dexter departure with a major role on Desperate Housewives. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Benz — whose character, Rita, succumbed to the most horrific bubble bath in television history in last month’s Dexter finale — has been cast in the recurring role of Debbie, a stripper with a heart of gold and a Masters degree in education. When Susan offers her the chance to transition into a more legitimate career, Deb jumps at it. Benz is booked for at least three episodes, the first of which is scheduled to air in February. Kesha's "TiK ToK" Sets Female Download Record Rookie pop singer Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" shifted 610,000 digital tracks for the week ending December 27, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's the highest weekly sum by a female artist since tracking began in 2003, and the second-best overall after Flo Rida's "Right Round" sold 636,000 this past February. Coincidentally, Ke$ha was an uncredited singer on the track. TiK ToK" eclipsed the female mark set by Lady Gaga with "Just Dance" exactly a year ago. Ke$ha's hefty download sum will ensure "TiK ToK's" place atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a second week when that chart is released Thursday. The song previews her debut album "Animal," which is set to hit stores on January 5. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Yahoo

Twilight "Eclipse" No Test Screenings According To Summit

Twilight "Eclipse" No Test Screenings According To Summit After news spread that Summit Entertainment was holding "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" test screenings over the weekend, testimonials began to appear online from fans who had the chance to see the flick. The only problem? There was no test screening, so the testimonials were anything but accurate. A source close to the "Eclipse" production told GossipCop.com that rumors of the screening are "absolutely not true." Also, any testimonials being published online on sites like Alex's Memories are equally untrue. The source said specifics around any trailers and screenings for the flick have yet to be announced. "There is absolutely no merit to this claim," a Summit Entertainment rep confirmed to MTV News about reports of the screenings. "We noticed it over the holiday on multiple message boards and sites, and it appears that some of this was spam." Please Leave A Comment-
