ELYSIUM Trailer has arrived and we go it. In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. First look at   Sharlto Copley in  Neill ‘District 9’ Blomkamp's upcoming dystopian epic Elysium .  Copley will be playing the film’s villain Kruger. Elysium is set in the year 2159, and pits the oppressed people of the ruined planet Earth against the privileged elite aboard the Elysium space station. Matt Damon is ex-convict man-on-a-mission Max, fighting with the Terrans for equality, and Jodie Foster is the dastardly government official intent on enforcing anti-immigration laws and keeping Elysium for the Elysians; Kruger is her relentless attack dog. Reports over the summer seemed to suggest that Copley, who of course starred for Blomkamp in District 9, had one eye on Heath Ledger's Joker for the role of the black-ops military nutbag, but Copley tells Empire this was a misunderstanding. Lifetime is in the early stages of developing Clarice , a drama based on the Clarice Starling character that earned The Silence of the Lambs star Jodie Foster an Academy Award for best actress. Clarice would follow the exploits of a young Clarice Starling soon after she graduates from the FBI academy. The show's development comes as NBC preps the 13-episode series Hannibal , which also takes place in the world of author Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter series of books. But Hannibal, from Bryan Fuller, won't include the Clarice character, and instead focuses on the relationship between Hannibal and FBI criminal profiler Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy). MGM is producing Clarice, which Lifetime boss Nancy Dubuc first hinted may be in the works during the network's upfront presentation. Spike Lee is not feeling the love from Hollywood’s money men. “I haven’t made a feature film in three years,”  Lee has lately focused on documentary work with two films about post-Katrina New Orleans for HBO. But he had designs on biopics about Jackie Robinson – the Brooklyn Dodgers slugger who broke baseball’s color line – and soul icon James Brown . And he was in discussions a while back for a sequel to thriller Inside Man , which starred Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster . But he's been unable to secure financing. “ Inside Man was my most successful film,” he said, adding that he had Washington and Foster on board for the sequel. “But we can’t get the sequel made. And one thing Hollywood does well is sequels. The film’s not getting made. We tired many times.
