Despite the dramatic, fog machine-aided setting, the assorted members of the Justice League almost could be lining up for school picture day in this new image. Still, take a look at Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher's Cyborg, Ezra Miller's The Flash and Jason Momoa's Aquaman in the latest still above. Notably missing, of course, is Henry Cavill's Superman, and we can only assume this comes from a part of the film where he's still presumed dead, his noble sacrifice spurring Affleck's Bruce Wayne to assemble the team to battle a dangerous, powerful new intergalactic threat. Either that, or Supes is picking up his spare cape from the dry cleaners and will be around shortly. The movie finds our heroes facing off against the danger of Steppenwolf and has already demonstrated that it'll try to inject a little more genuine fun in the story. Deadline is reporting Patrick Wilson has been set by Warner Bros and director James Wan to co-star in Aquaman . Jason Momoa plays the title character, and Wilson will play the fish whisperer’s supervillain half brother ORM , also known as Ocean Master , in the DC film that Warner Bros will release October 5, 2018. The character has some of the sibling-rivalry elements found in Loki. That is Thor’s half brother, who has figured as the heavy in numerous Marvel films, in the form of Tom Hiddleston. ORM is at least as disagreeable and more powerful: In the comics, Aquaman’s human half brother is a rival for the throne of Atlantis and wreaks havoc on the high seas and beneath them when he doesn’t get his way. Amber Heard is playing Mera, Queen of Atlantis. Though it hadn't been formally announced, there was thought that the stand-alone Aquaman movie, to be directed by James Wan , would arrive for a summer slot in 2018. Now we know that it will actually land in October that year. Aquaman, of course, will dive into more detail about Jason Momoa 's sea-dwelling hero, who we glimpsed briefly in Batman V Superman and will meet properly in the first Justice League, which arrives on 17 November next year. Not much is known about the story for the solo hero film, but Amber Heard will be back to play fellow Atlantis occupant (and queen) Mera, following her own Justice League introduction. Willem Dafoe is likewise on to play Vulko, whose comic history is a complicated one, swinging between trusted adviser and friend to the title character and dangerous threat. This past Saturday was Batman Day , so naturally projects featuring the Caped Crusader saw the chance for a little corporate syner... er... celebration. Among them was Justice League, which opted to premiere the first proper look at J.K. Simmons' Commissioner Gordon via director Zack Snyder's Twitter account . It's not exactly the clearest look at Gordon, but at least he's in a familiar place, lighting the Bat Signal. Simmons has said that Gordon won't have a massive amount of screen time in the film, but given the actor's usual abilities, we expect he'll make the most of it. Director Zack Snyder has revealed a new look at Batman's tactical Batsuit, the first time we've seen it on Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne. See more images after the Jump... Alfred and Bruce develop an advanced suit in the “final chapter” of this story to fit the needs of the mission. This suit isn’t going to be used in filming for another two months so we only got to see a very early prototype of it alongside concept art. Described as “the tactical Batsuit,” it looks very much like the classic Batsuit augmented with straps and layers of leather and protective plates. A new cowl allows for flight goggles which he’ll wear when piloting a new vehicle. The straps look more military grade. I don’t love it. The cowl offers more protection in this story. It’s been implied inside the cowl there is a whole sub-membrane that is now expressed outside the cowl. As Warner Bros. big DC movies panel rolled on, it was the turn of Zack Snyder and Justice League . And the first footage from that one has also arrived. Though the film is still shooting, Snyder brought a look – that can't quite be described as a trailer – at Ben Affleck' s Batman gathering the team he needs to battle evil. We see him recruit Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Ezra Miller's Barry Allen/The Flash in particular, though there are also shots of Ray Fisher as Victor Stone, AKA Cyborg on board. Oh, and of course Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, who is already willing and able to do battle. The take-away from this initial look? A definite humour boost (Ezra Miller will still need to prove himself after the debut of the TV Flash, but there's definite signs of some laughs to be found) and a fairly standard Aquaman joke. Snyder has something to prove after the dour Dawn Of Justice, so we'll have to wait and see. As if yet there's no sign of J.K. Simmons'

THR is reporting The Justice League has found its Commissioner Gordon. Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as the Gotham City police commissioner. Justice League, which will be directed by Zack Snyder, sees heroes Batman ( Ben Affleck ), Superman ( Henry Cavill ), Wonder Woman ( Gal Gadot ), Aquaman ( Jason Momoa ), The Flash ( Ezra Miller ) and Cyborg ( Ray Fisher ) teaming up to combat a threat beyond each member's capabilities. Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay for Justice League, which will be released in two parts by Warner Bros. It's produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.
