Adam Driver is ready to travel to a galaxy far, far, away. Sources tell Variety that while no deal is done yet, the “ Girls ” actor is close to signing on to play the villain in J.J. Abrams’ “ Star Wars: Episode VII .” Exact details are unknown, but the character is said to be in the vein of iconic “ Star Wars ” villain Darth Vader . Driver , 30, is the first cast member to be revealed for Walt Disney Studios and LucasFilm’s highly-anticipated “Star Wars” installment, which will open in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. The big-budget tentpole, directed by J.J. Abrams , is scheduled to shoot at London’s Pinewood Studios in April. Additional cast members will likely be announced in the next month. “Star Wars: Episode VII” will continue the Jedi saga where “ Return of the Jedi ” left off. They will star in “ Strangerland ,” an Oz mystery drama about a couple whose teenage children go missing in the Outback. The film is directed by Kim Farrant, from a script by Fiona Seres and Michael Kinirons. Production is tentatively set to begin in March 2014. Production is by Naomi Wenck and Macdara Kelleher, for Dragonfly Pictures and Fastnet Films. Financiers include Screen Australia, the Irish Film Board and equity financier Worldview Entertainment. Transmission Films will handle local Australian distribution, while France’s Wild Bunch represents the picture in international territories. Christopher Woodrow, Molly Conners, Maria Cestone, Sarah E. Johnson, Andrew Mackie and Richard Payten are set as as exec producers. Cloud Atlas Review By: MattInRC Make sure to Follow MattInRC on Twitter for all his reviews and tasteless jokes. Confusing throughout, flat out unintelligible at points, and just plain boring, Cloud Atlas is almost three hours of frustration you're well-advised to skip. If you were one of the unfortunate few who bravely watched 1984's Dune , you were privy to a disaster that few films have matched. Since then, the formula (which involves an ambitious project wracked with a mix of shoddy storytelling, terrible acting, and poor editing) has sadly been well-duplicated. The year 2012 has seen its share of potential dance partners for Dune, but few come close to the quagmire which is Cloud Atlas . Few films will spawn such a polarization of opinion as this nearly three hour epic will, but it's clear that ' disaster' is an apropos place to start. Any attempt at a summary would be folly, but suffice it to say our actors get to play multiple role

We've been hearing about the epic scale and cast of The Wachowskis ' historical sci-fi drama Cloud Atlas for more than a year now, and we're finally starting to see what the flick will look like. New concept art for the film has just hit the 'Net, giving us a peek at South Korea more than 100 years in the future. Co-directed by the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer (who directed, among other things, Run Lola Run and Perfume), Cloud Atlas is an adaptation of David Mitchell's acclaimed novel that tells six stories ranging from the Pacific Ocean of the 1850s to the city of Seoul in the 2100s. The enormous and star-studded cast includes the likes of Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving and Susan Sarandon . The only real image from the film that's been released so far is this one of Korean star Bae Doona . Now that we have all seen the trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger , now its time to look at it alittle closer. Collider has nabbed a ton of screen shots from the upcoming film and we have them for you now. I am impressed by Paramount Pictures for not letting these images or the trailer to leak online before the actual airing of the commercial. This is the one film I have been waiting for and after seeing the trailer I am even more pumped for the movie.
