We've been hearing about the concept of Black Adam , the villain-turned-antihero from the Shazam! comics before the idea of an actual Shazam! solo film came to fruition, mostly because Dwayne Johnson was attached to the role and he likes to talk about his upcoming projects, potential or otherwise, a lot. With Shazam! out in the world and, while not setting any box office records, doing well enough to warrant sequel and spin-off talk, the Black Adam film bubbled back up to the top of the development pot and now it has a director. Variety is reporting " Baby Driver ” star Eiza Gonzalez has joined the ensemble of Universal’s “ Fast and Furious ” spinoff “ Hobbs and Shaw ” starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham . The role was a last-minute addition, and sources say execs favored Gonzalez, but scheduling had to be worked out with Legendary’s “Godzilla vs. Kong,” which features Gonzalez and is also about to begin shooting. Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby are also on board with David Leitch directing. “Fast and Furious” architect Chris Morgan penned the script. The film will see the titular, often-at-odds pair teaming up. It is unknown who Gonzalez will be playing. Since his arrival in the franchise’s fifth installment, Universal has tried to find a way to spin off Johnson’s Hobbs character, given his popularity with fans. Statham joined the series in the seventh movie, and considering the chemistry between the two actors in 2017’s “The Fate of the Furious,” Universal took action on plans to devel

Dwayne Johnson Instagrammed our first look of Vanessa Kirby as Hattie Shaw, sister of Deckard Shaw. “ Deadpool 2 ” director, David Leitch who also gave us “ John Wick ” and “ Atomic Blonde ” will direct Universal’s “ Fast & Furious ” spinoff movie, “ Hobbs and Shaw ” focusing on Dwayne Johnson ’s character Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham ’s character, Deckard Shaw, both of whom had appeared in recent installments of this franchise. This project was why Universal Pictures moved “Fast & Furious 9” to 2020. The main writer of this franchise, Chris Morgan, returns again to pen the script for this spinoff which reportedly will be about Diplomatic Security Service agent, Luke Hobbs and former bad guy turned Hobbs’ friend, Deckard Shaw (Statham) as they go off on their own adventure. The last time Dwayne Johnson fired up his hugely popular Instagram account to share an image of his latest, Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs And Shaw , he hadn't even set foot on set yet. He's actually showed up for work now, and above you can see him staring at Jason Statham . Dwayne Johnson Plays Will Sawyer a man who’s stuck in a tower trying to save his family from terrorist. Sound Familiar? Skyscraper is a perfect homage to Die Hard and 80’s Action Movies alike. With that being said this film couldn’t be coming out at a more perfect time. It’s the middle of the summer nothing huge coming out till the end of the month, but now we have this thrilling action film that just asks the audience to grab the biggest bucket of popcorn with tons of butter and salt that they can, then run straight into the theater to sit back relax and enjoy this film. The film has some quite astonishing visuals that really work and make not only the fires flash out, but also the heights of the tower stand out. This ends up putting you on the edge of your seat the whole time even if the story can feel predictable and foreshadows lots of events that you can see coming from a mile away.
