James Franco has been on a run of adapting novels recently, and for his latest directorial job, he’s turning Steve Erickson’s 2007 book Zeroville into a film. The new project will find him turning the tables (and cameras) on his This Is The End co-star/director Seth Rogen , with Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Danny McBride, Horatio Sanz, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson and Will Ferrell all also aboard. Zeroville , which Paul Felton and Ian Olds have scripted, finds Franco as a young, movie-obsessed architecture student arriving in Hollywood in 1969 and almost immediately mistaken for one of the perpetrators in the Charles Manson murders. Starring Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke the guys are back and living the life before Lou (Corddry) gets shot (in a very sensitive place) but an unknown assailant. Faced with a life without Lou, the trio return to the time machine, only to go forward in time to 2024. This Is The End Review By: MattInRC The raunch-fest  This Is The End  is fiercely unapologetic and sinfully hilarious to watch. We here at SJF are privy to so many comedy screenings every year, and we are grateful for it. Unfortunately, 2013 has given us more than our fair share of duds, making me wonder if good comedy is still out there. Luckily,  This Is The End  renews my faith, even if I can't recommend that everyone see it. Shot mostly in the home of James Franco (Pineapple Express), the film features a who's-who of modern comedic actors, including Seth Rogan (Knocked Up), Jonah Hill (Superbad), and fellow Express dudes Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride . Each plays some sort of weird version of themselves as they react to the Apocalypse which is about to end of the world. New Hot Tub Time Machine Clip The clip shows all the guys trying to figure out what just happened and how does the time machine work. By the way the white powder around Craig Robinson is not flour.  In the clip Robinson talks about the time machine and the comparison to Terminator the film and what could have happen if they didn't send Michael Bean back in time. The film just looks like a good old retro 80's film with great comedy and an awesome soundtrack. There is some serious buzz about this movie and it is all good. We admit the raunchy time-travel comedy Hot Tub Time Machine sounded like all kinds of bad when we first heard about it, but the new trailer, below, makes it seem at least funny in parts, which is progress. Things we like: the Back to the Future Hot Tub interface, John Cusack riffing on his '80s Lloyd Dobler persona, the texting/online jokes, and besides, who doesn't like making fun of the '80s?
