We’re now just a month away from the first season of the Marvel/Netflix Daredevil series that promises to bring the Man Without Fear to TV screens with a darker edge and a bloodier feel. With the episodes approaching quickly, the new trailer has arrived. The series, from Spartacus man Steven S. DeKnight, gets down and dirty into the world of Hell’s Kitchen, New York, where upstanding but frustrated lawyer Mart Murdock (Charlie Cox) decides that to help save his neighbourhood from a tidal wave of crime and post-Avengers trouble, he’s going to take matters into his own hands. By forming them into fists and dishing out rough justice as a nighttime vigilante. But Matt, as you’ll likely know, has something different from other crime fighters: he’s blind following an accident in childhood, one that also saw him develop heightened senses that let him “see” the world around him in a unique way. Now we have the third of the four members of Marvel / Netflix's Defenders crossover event series: Mike Colter will star as Luke Cage , sometimes known as Power Man. After changing names a couple of times like a sneaky vampire, the new take on Dracula’s origin is now going by the moniker Dracula Untold . Luke Evans is the man with the fangs (at least, we assume, at some point) and Universal has put out two posters from the film to tantalise your eyes. Little has been released about the movie so far, save for the fact that it will be a new look at how the character we know from Bram Stoker’s Dracula has his roots in a real man. Evans’ Vlad Tepes is initially shown as an honourable but troubled man who fights for his people and will go to any lengths to protect his family. Unfortunately for him, “any lengths” includes “making a dark pact that sets him on a path to become one of fiction’s most iconic monsters.” It’s a bit like agreeing to let Capita run your public services, but obviously less annoying.
