BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Event Review: Marvel Universe Live!

The high-octane show is exciting for kids and a welcomed activity for dads. Review by Matt Cummings It's not often when dads can get into the event side of the familial outing. That's usually reserved for moms and shows like Disney on Ice. But with this weekend's showing of Marvel Universe Live! in Sacramento, dads can add a new activity that won't bore them to tears and might actually entertain along the way. When Thor destroys the Cosmic Cube, sending the fractals to distant parts of the the planet, Loki returns to re-assemble it in his quest for worldwide domination. To do so, he'll need a cast of Marvel's most fearsome villains: Red Skull, The Sinister Six, and A.I.M. But there's a little group called The Avengers, led by Captain America and Iron Man, who have put together their own team to stop them. Hawkeye, Thor, and Black Widow join Bruce Banner, Wolverine, and Spider-man as they race across the continent to find the fractals before

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Announces New Cast Member

Luke Mitchell to Join Cast Story by David Clark Luke Mitchell will be playing a character of interest on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D when the show returns from break in March. Season two picked up after Captain America: The Winter Soldier set the Hydra plot line into motion. As the season developed additional storylines have opened up. A plot point relevant to Mitchell’s new character is an area of interest that has strung fans along since season one - Skye (Chloe Bennet). She was introduced as an activist hacker, yet with the progression of the show her origins have become a major mystery. Information from Marvel reveals that Lincoln, the character being played by Luke Mitchell, will be important as Skye’s story unfolds. “With the revelations surrounding Skye’s true identity in the Winter Finale, we knew we’d be introducing more Inhumans as our story progressed,” said Executive Producer Jeph Loeb Loeb introduces Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) as inhuman which is

TV Review: Agent Carter ”The Blitzkrieg Button”

The Marvel show slows its roll this week. Review by Brandon Wolfe After taking off like a rocket with its first three episodes, Agent Carter hits the brakes in its fourth outing. ”The Blitzkrieg Button” is a draggier outing than the show has quickly made us accustomed to. There are notable happenings to be sure, but the overall impression of the episode is that water is being treaded big-time. The biggest development here is that Howard Stark has returned, having been smuggled illicitly back into the country, where he’s intercepted by Carter and Jarvis from a couple of goons working for the shadowy Mr. Mink. Stark, still the most wanted man in the country, is forced to hide out at the Griffith, the all-female apartment complex with strict rules against male visitors. The rooster-in-the-henhouse humor from Carter continually having to track Stark down in various tenants’ rooms is very effective. The show truly gets a boost out of Dominic Cooper’s playful presence, so here’s ho

TV Review: Marvel’s Agent Carter “Time and Tide”

Heroes Get Fleshed Out as Marvel Series Keeps Swinging Marvel’s Agent Carter “Time and Tide” Review by Brandon Wolfe Where last week’s two-hour premiere was packed to the gills with series-establishing exposition, Agent Carter slows its roll this week, taking a breath and allowing us to get to know our protagonists and the situations they occupy. Though she has had a firm place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for going on four years now, Peggy Carter is still a character we aren’t intimately acquainted with. Her role in Captain America: The First Avenger was fairly thin. She was little more than a tough-bird love interest to Steve Rogers, even if Hayley Atwell’s performance was richer than what was on the page. That film also skirted the plight inherent to a woman of that era working in such an overwhelmingly male-dominated field. Carter had an inordinate amount of agency in the film, rubbing elbows with government and military bigwigs without being met with any documented

Hayley Atwell & The Howling Commandos First Look

She fought the good fight in the Marvel comics and the Captain America films, now Agent Peggy Carter fights it again on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The badass heroine, played by Hayley Atwell , will be seen in a 1940s-era flashback kicking off the Sept. 23 season premiere of the ABC series — and TV Guide Magazine has the first look! Back in the day, Carter was an integral member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. prototype group Strategic Scientific Reserve and her path was similar to that of Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who must now rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the ground up after the seismic events of last season. "Coulson is a big student of history and wants to return to those old ideals of Agent Carter's time," says executive producer Jed Whedon. "He's, like, 'Let's be the S.H.I.E.L.D. we were meant to be!' He wants to do the job right this time." Atwell, who will star in the 2015 spinoff series Marvel's Agent Carter, is joined in

Captain America 3. Will This Be The End?

Director says fans " are going to freak out " about the third Cap movie The movie won’t be released for almost two years and isn’t even in production yet. That doesn't mean that the publicity machine for Marvel Studios' Captain America 3 isn't already working at full strength, with co-director Anthony Russo already hinting at what to expect in the Star-Spangled Avenger’s next solo outing. “I can’t divulge who is going to be in the film, but I think fans are going to freak out when they hear about it,” Russo teased when talking to Movies.com. It’s possible he was referring to Hawkeye, who Jeremy Renner hinted would be making an appearance earlier this week, but Russo refused to name names. “We wanted to push the character forward into the modern age with The Winter Soldier, and we want to keep pushing the character forward. We always want to be true to who Captain America is, but we want to surprise people about where he can go and what he's capable of. T

Directors Talk Captain America 3

After making a huge splash with his last solo outing, The Winter Soldier , Chris Evans ' Captain America has won the chance to make another. And the sequel’s directors, Joe and Anthony Russo , are back developing ideas for the next story, which will hit screens in a couple of years. While they’re naturally secretive about such an embryonic project, they have shared a little something with Yahoo . From the sounds of it, Cap’s major themes will continue over into the new film, which will also likely have to digest whatever he goes through in Avengers: Age Of Ultron . It’ll also be interesting to see if any follow-up can raise the stakes beyond taking down SHIELD and exposing the beating, slimy Hydra heart within. “The character was invented for an explicitly political purpose. So it’s hard to get away from that nature,” Anthony tells the site. “It’s also important that Captain America doesn’t become another disillusioned antihero.” And according to Joe: “his morality is part of

All The Marvel Easter Eggs In One Video

Before Marvel Studios came along, Easter eggs — or small lines or visual cues that are included in movies as nods to fans in the know — were few and unimportant. Stan Lee got his “ Spider-Man ” cameos, Wolverine joked that his suit wasn’t “yellow spandex,” and Lou Ferrigno was seen briefly in “ Hulk .” But with the advent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with “ Iron Man ” all the way through its newest release, “ Guardians of the Galaxy ,” Easter eggs have become an art. Sure, sometimes they’re still similar to the old ones — after all, Stan Lee still has had cameos in every MCU movie so far — but Marvel was the first studio to really ask its fans to rewatch, slow down, and magnify its movies to find all the secrets within, secrets which could be integral to the plot of future movies. Captain America’s Cracked Shield Image From #AVENGERSAGEOFULTRON

If you saw the teaser trailer during Comic-Con for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON , you’d know that at the end of that trailer, Cap’s shield cracked, probably because of the villain Ultron. Marvel’s Comic-Con booth now has that cracked Cap’s shield on display. Please Leave A Comment-

Comic-Con 2014: Marvel Announces Another 2018 Movie

The announcement brings Marvel's 2018 releases to three. It's early at Comic-Con 2014, but the news is already starting to flow from the event. Ready to make a big splash, Marvel has announced another release date for an untitled film, this one May 4, 2018. This brings the total number of Marvel films in 2018 to three, and that's not counting other studios which own properties like Spider-man and X-Men. The news comes less than a week after Mouse House claimed five additional other dates from 2017-2019. The news is almost as important as the Wednesday news that Sony had vacated that date for The Amazing Spider-Man 4 as part of its reshuffling of the franchise. But what about learning the actual titles to all of these films? It's clear that we'll get news about many of them this week, as it presents in Hall H on July 26. It's possible that the May 4, 2018 could be set as a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, but we're hoping for something more

Marvel’s Agent Carter Gets A Series Order

ABC is doubling down on Marvel TV shows. First, Agents of SHIELD is returning for a second season. That move was pretty widely expected, despite the show’s somewhat modest ratings performance. Plus, ABC has also greenlit to series its Captain America spin-off Agent Carter (or, as the studio insists it’s titled, Marvel’s Agent Carter ). Official description of the new series from ABC: “ Marvel’s Agent Carter ,” starring “ Captain America’s” Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain
