We've seen several images of the main heroes in Justice League , but thus far Mera, queen of Atlantis (played by Amber Heard ), has been more of a mystery. That changes today, as IGN has nabbed a look at the queen as she appears in the movie, along with a costume sketch and concept art that show how her look evolved. See all the images after the Jump... Mera in the comic book love interest of Jason Momoa's Aquaman and the ruler of Atlantis (or future queen in some titles). She first appeared in the DC canon in 1963 and she has powers of her own, including the ability to control water. What she'll be doing in the movie is anyone's guess at this point, but she's Aquaman's wife and will be part of the action. Justice League recently wrapped shooting in London, and director Zack Snyder is currently in post-production to get the film ready for its 17 November, 2017 release date. Superman: Dawn of Justice , some good news: Not only will he return for the Justice League movies, but there's the possibility of an additional Batman movie based on Affleck's own take on the character. "He's contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape," he says, adding, "There's a script that he's written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that's out there as an option."
