MAGIC MIKE Review By: MattInRC MAGIC MIKE  is a surprisingly deep and serious film about love and male stripping that fails to keep our attention. Imagine that. MAGIC MIKE Takes It All Off In This International Trailer- Director Steven Soderbergh expresses the challenges of contemporary life in a way few do. From Ocean's Eleven to Traffic, it's all about the great price some people pay to get ahead and the lives they ultimately affect.  MAGIC MIKE  tries to make the case that those involved in the 'male review entertainment' field deal with problems of their own making, partially due to the nature of their chosen career (if one could call it that). And while the film is remarkably deep in expressing this lifestyle in funny and unique ways, the film loses steam midway through the third act, becoming a shadow of what it could have been. Alex Pettyfer will next be seen — actually a lot of him will be seen — on the big screen shortly in the male stripping movie Magic Mike releasing into theaters on June 29th. The actor has just lined up his next movie, joining Precious director Lee Daniels’ The Butler in the role of Thomas Westphall. Like Daniels, the pic already has a stellar cast of Oscar winners and nominees: Forest Whitaker, David Oyelowo, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Minka Kelly, Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrance Howard, and Lenny Kravitz . And talks are underway with Vanessa Redgrave to join the pic as well. Pettyfer’s Westphall appears early in the life of Whitaker’s character and has a pivotal influence on the rest of that character’s life. IN TIME Blu-ray Review By: MATT C Alright guys Matt is back with another Blu-ray review and this time we have the Action thriller IN TIME . In Time is a film you want to like. Its premise, about a future where all disease is cured, but life is now measured by how much ‘time’ you have accrued on your arm, is something right out of Gattaca. In fact, Andrew Niccol , who wrote and directed In Time , also wrote Gattaca . So, why does In Time fail to impress? Read on to find out.
