The first thing you notice about the Alien: Covenant poster that has just been put online via 20th Century Fox's Twitter feed is the slavering jaws of a xenomorph (or whatever version exists in the film). And then you might also notice that the image indicates a change for the film - it'll arrive in May next year, instead of August. Moana , the company's latest animated offering, got off to a strong start at the American box office, earning $55.5 million for the weekend and $81.1 million across the period from its release on Wednesday, according to studio estimates. That figure means Moana enters the charts as Disney's second-highest opening in the Thanksgiving period, behind just Frozen, and seems likely to have the same longevity – adding in its overseas totals, the movie is sailing towards $100 million after just a few days. THR is reporting Doug Liman is on board to direct the YA post-apocalyptic thriller. Tom Holland , who is playing Spider-Man in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming , is in negotiations to join Daisy Ridley in Lionsgate’s post-apocalyptic thriller Chaos Walking . Doug Liman is directing the project, an adaptation of the best-selling YA novel by Patrick Ness. The story takes place in a world where all women have been killed by a germ and all living creatures can hear one another's thoughts in a stream of images, words and sounds called Noise. Holland would star as a boy forced to flee his town with his loyal dog and who comes upon a strange sight: a girl (Ridley). Oscar-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) worked on the script, as did Jamie Linden (Money Monster). The gorgeous-looking The Secret Life of Pets feels strangely familiar, but is entirely adorable. Review by Matt Cummings As a pet owner and failed foster parent to three kittens (my wife and I actually kept all three), it goes without saying that my curiosity in The Secret Life of Pets went far above the cinematography, the animation, or really anything else. I just wanted to see what pets do - and think about - while their overlord oppressor goes to work. And while strangely familiar to the original Toy Story , this one more than makes up for it in cuteness and spectacular animation.
