BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Blu-ray Review: #TheNightManager

The Night Manager - Uncensored Edition is engrossingly dark elegance with a chocolate on the hotel bed. Review by Matt Cummings With all the talk about a replacement being sought for Daniel Craig as James Bond, Actor Tom Hiddleston was perhaps the last person anyone assumed would suddenly vault to the top of everyone's list. But that was before the BBC mini-series The Night Manager - Uncensored Edition , an engrossing, unconventionally dark free fall into the world of shady arms dealing. Its arrival on Blu-ray gives us a Zero Point to measure Hiddleston both Pre- and Post-Bond. For respected hotelier night manager Thomas Pine (Hiddleston), life revolves around assisting his well-to-do guests at a fashionable hotel in Egypt. But as a revolution sweeps through the country, Pine learns that an arms deal lead by the wealthy industrialist Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) will attempt to circumvent any progress made by very violent means. Determined to help, Pine is e

Ice Cube Wants A Last Friday Movie

Ice Cube may have one more Friday movie in him. On Monday the rapper, actor, and filmmaker revealed on Twitter that he has met with New Line Cinema about making Last Friday , which would be the fourth film in the comedy franchise about an everyman trying to get by in South Central L.A. Cube’s update came with a caveat, however: “Can’t do Last Friday unless we can do it right,” he wrote. “Ball is in New Line Cinema’s hands. Bat is in mine.” Cube starred in and made his screenwriting debut on the original Friday, which was released in 1995 and helped propel costar Chris Tucker to stardom. A low-budget hit, the film spawned two sequels, 2000’s Next Friday and 2002’s Friday After Next. There has been talk of a potential fourth installment since at least 2011. Cube’s tweet came a day after he shot down rumors that his son, Straight Outta Compton star O’Shea Jackson Jr., would star in a Friday remake. “Can’t mess with a classic,” he said. WTF? Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Concept Art

Rogue One is not the only outer-space adventure adorning the pages of Empire’s new issue. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 , the eagerly-awaited follow-up to Marvel’s most out-there blockbuster to date, shares some exclusive new concept art. This one shows what our heroes are up against this time out. Answer? This horrible-looking critter. Resembling the product of a particularly successful Tinder date between an exogorth and a sarlacc, this furry-octo-monster is menacing Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), baby Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket (Bradley Cooper). We defy you not to enjoy the expression on Groot’s face. Everyone’s favourite sprout doesn’t seem to be taking this confrontation quite as seriously as the rest of the gang. This so-far unnamed space beastie isn’t the only – or, indeed, main – threat the Guardians will be facing in the second volume. Elizabeth Debicki’s alien Ayesha is hungry for vengeance after they stitch her up early in the p

Blu-ray Review: The Duel Story Makes Hardly Any Sense

A small western film tries desperately to be an Oscar contender. Review by Erika Ashley In the late 1880s, a young boy watches a ruthless, God-fearing “Preacher” murder his father in a cold-blooded knife-duel. Years later the boy, David Kingston, grows up to be a Texas Ranger and is put on a special case when bodies of deceased Mexicans begin popping up in a river outside of a quiet town. The man that runs the town is the very man that killed Kingston’s father 22 years before. Kingston brings his wife along with him reluctantly to investigate the deaths but gets caught up quickly in the inner-workings of a much larger problem. Kingston soon finds himself in a duel, fighting for his wife and his life after he uncovers the truth. I cannot remember this film being released in theaters which forces me to believe that this little ditty snuck under the radar and was forced straight to DVD/Blu-ray. Surprisingly the with two big name actors as front-runners, Woody Harrelson a

Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer Working On " COPS" Movie

"Bad boys, bad boys, wotcha gonna do... wotcha gonna do when they come for you..." If that song pops into your head when you hear the title COPS , then chances are you know the famous reality police series that has been running on US TV since 1989. Now someone wants to make a movie based on the show, and Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer is aboard to direct. It's still in the nascent stage of developing, but apparently the plan is not to go for a direct big-screen version of the show, which specialises in showing perps being arrested, houses being raided and drunk weirdoes being carted away in cuffs, but instead to turn the idea into a buddy comedy along the lines of Lethal Weapon. Which has us rather confused... Why purchase the rights to the name of a show but then create a movie that will likely have nothing much to do with it? Still, writer Cameron Fay is the man currently charged with channelling the series' particular vibe for the show, which we suppose c
