Enter For A Chance To Win Passes To See #MIDNIGHTSPECIAL In Phoenix

Enter For A Chance To See MIDNIGHT SPECIAL On March 29th at 7:00 PM in Phoenix. Writer/director Jeff Nichols proves again that he is one of the most compelling storytellers of our time with the sci-fi thriller “Midnight Special.” A provocative, genre-defying film as supernatural as it is intimately human, it follows a father, Roy ( Michael Shannon ), who goes on the run to protect his young son, Alton ( Jaeden Lieberher ), a boy with mysterious powers that even Roy himself cannot comprehend. “Midnight Special” stars Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (“99 Homes,” “Revolutionary Road”), Joel Edgerton (“Black Mass”), Kirsten Dunst (TV’s “Fargo”), Adam Driver (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”), Jaeden Lieberher (“St. Vincent”) and Oscar nominee Sam Shepard (“The Right Stuff,” “August Osage County”). Blu-ray Review: The Hunger Games - Mockingjay, Part 2

As someone who found the premise beind The Hunger Games to be barely agreeable, I have come to enjoy their play on the big screen, both as a zeitgeist meter and for the way it launched Actress Jennifer Lawrence's career. Along the way, I appreciated its gripping social commentary, as well as the violent and bloody conflict given to us in the form of gladitorial tributes. But with four films under its belt, the series feels as war-weary as its subject, no longer reflecting its namesake, and perhaps proving that YA-based movies might be truly dead. As the showdown between Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) approaches its zenith, the citizens of the various Districts band together to wage war against Panem's sadistic leader. But it's clear that District leaders like Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) have other plans post-Snow, while freedom fighters ike Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) struggle to regain themselves after beung brutally brainwashed. Daisy Ridley In Talks To Play Lara Croft

Daisy Ridley has publicly confirmed for the first that she has been approached to play Lara Croft in a new adaptation of the Tomb Raider series – paving the way for all manner of ‘Tomb Rey-der’ puns. Speaking to Empire’s Chris Hewitt at the Jameson Empire Awards – where she took home a gong, for Best Female Newcomer – the 23-year-old star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens acknowledged that “there have been conversations”. The actress was first linked to the role earlier this month, but had not commented on the reports until now. Choosing her words carefully (“ I was not told how to answer this question! ”), Ridley said she had been having several meetings about the role, “ but meetings don’t mean you’re going to do the film ”. She did, however, recognise the swell of fan support for the casting idea – ”everyone seems to be very excited about the idea” – but clarified that the project was still in its very early stages. “I don’t even think there’s a script yet.” The Tomb Rai

Lucas Till Cast As #MacGyver

Hollywood has gone MacGyver mad in the last couple of years, with the film version in development via James Wan evolving into a TV pilot focusing on the younger years of the character famously brought to life in the 1980s by Richard Dean Anderson. Now Lucas Till  ( X-Men: Apocalypse) has landed the role of Angus MacGyver. The TV series turns back to the clock to find MacGyver in the earliest days of his career, after he's recruited to help a clandestine government organisation stop international crime and disasters. He has a talent for coming up with unorthodox solutions and making use of whatever happens to be around at the time, from paper clips and chewing gum. And he never goes anywhere without his trusty pen knife. Also new to the cast? Joshua Boone, who will play Gunner, MacGyver's best friend from high school. They join George Eads, playing Lincoln, a conspiracy theorist with more than the usual amount of knowledge. The pilot has a script from Paul Downs Colai

Television Review: #Bosch Season 2

Amazon's evolving series is beautifully shot but hardly addictive. Review by Matt Cummings If Amazon's solid first offering of Bosch proved anything, it's that the sometimes worn-out cop genre still had more stories to tell. Expertly handled by Michael Connelly - who wrote the books and produced the series - it made instant fans with Amazon's gritty and ugly look at LA and its cops. Season 2 picks up right where the first left off, although the result is hardly addictive. Returning six months after putting his boss through a plate glass window, Bosch (Titus Welliver) returns from suspension to dive headfirst into the murder of guy stuffed in his own trunk and dumped in the Hollywood Hills. The events lead Bosch and his partner Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector) to the widow Veronica Allen, who doesn't seem surprised by the news. Apparently, Mr. Allen was a womanizer, a porn producer, and dealt in dirty mob money. But as Bosch and Edgar begin pulling on t
