Taken' director Pierre Morel will produce the project to be shopped at the Toronto Film Festival. Overdrive is getting back in gear. According to THR Scott Eastwood will star in Overdrive , an action project being produced by Taken director Pierre Morel and Christopher Tuffin. The story centers on two car thieves, brothers, who journey to the south of France for new opportunities and wind up in the crosshairs of the local crime boss. Michael Brandt and Derek Haas wrote the script and are also producing. Antonio Negret, who helmed the Jim Caviezel action flick Transit, is directing. Sentient Entertainment's Renee Tab is executive producer. The project has been around since at least 2011 and has gone through a couple of iterations. Today Hulu is offering a commercial-free option to subscribers. Viewers now have the choice to watch Hulu commercial free for $11.99 per month or with limited commercials for $7.99 per month . Current Hulu subscribers will maintain their existing subscription, but will have the choice to switch to the commercial-free option at any time for an additional $4 per month. Nicolas Cage and Sarah Wayne Callies star in this thriller about one man's desperate search for his missing child. The film's based on a short story by British Fantasy and horror novelist Tim Lebbon (Dusk). Dan Kay (Timber Falls wrote the adaptation. Cage plays an English LIterature professor at NYU (apparently one who occasionally wears Sailor Rilpey's jacket), whose son goes missing at a Halloween parade, immediately after saying something weird. Variety is reporting Josh Gad has closed a deal to play the legendary film critic Roger Ebert in the STX Entertainment comedy “ Russ & Roger .” Will Ferrell is on board to play sexploitation maestro Russ Meyer , with Michael Winterbottom directing. Gad had been in talks to star for some time, contingent on scheduling. A debauched comedy in which truth is crazier than fiction, the film is an outrageous look at two no-holds-barred outsiders who defied the Hollywood establishment to make one of the first X-rated films ever released by a major movie studio (“Beyond the Valley of the Dolls”) — having the party of a lifetime in the process. The film is being produced by Mark Amin’s Sobini Films and David Permut’s Permut Presentations along with Richard Waltzer. The script was penned by Emmy-winning “Saturday Night Live” and “The Simpsons” scribe Christopher Cluess, with Winterbottom, Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons doing a polish.
