New Trailer For #TheGunman Starring Sean Penn & Idris Elba

Adapted from 1981 crime novel The Prone Gunman by Jean-Patrick Manchette, The Gunman will unleash the newly grenade-lobbing Penn on the shadowy figures trying to block his exit from their shady organisation. All he wants is a quiet life with his true love ( Jasmine Trinca ), and some time to recover from the PTSD he’s suffering from, but Javier Bardem’s operative and his goons stand in his path. Cue fisticuffs and some massive gun battles. Penn, for his part, rejects our lazy action star tagging. “Calling it an ‘action film’ is kind of like calling Meryl Streep a sexy blonde chick,” he told USA Today in 2013. “She is, but that really doesn't tell the story of what she is at all. I don’t separate this in my mind from anything else I have done. It’s a very human story that deals with the same things exploited in action films, like warfare.” Please Leave A Comment-

Our Most Anticipated Movies Of 2015

Learn which films have us excited for 2015. Story by Matt Cummings Last year at the box office was an odd one to be sure - with most people looking ahead to 2015, 2014 seemed like the bastard step-child that the family knows it has to take in, even though they'd rather not. Still, the year did give us several very good flicks, most of which made it into our 2014 Most Anticipated List . Like every year, big-budget franchise sequels and tentpoles dominated the landscape like Godzilla, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as well as The LEGO Movie. But now it's time to move into the big one, the year that should demolish every previous box office record, with a collection of films that honestly is the best we've seen in awhile. As always, our list runs the gamut, from risky comic book projects to interesting adaptions, reboots, and conclusions. Your friends at SJF have compiled our top 20 (or so) most anticipated, which means we'

TV Review: Constantine: "The Saint of Last Resorts: Part 2"

John Constantine faces possession and prison in latest adventure Constantine “The Saint of Last Resorts: Part 2" Review by Brandon Wolfe When we last left John Constantine, way back in the wilds of early December, he was left gutshot and dying in a sewer by former paramour/now nun Anne Marie as a demon advanced on him. We were left to wonder how our hero could get out of a situation this sticky, and “The Saint of Last Resorts: Part 2” resolves its cliffhanger straight away. Constantine decides to fight a demon with a demon by allowing the demon Pazuzu to inhabit his body, healing his wounds and frightening away his would-be attacker. While this does indeed save Constantine’s life, his soul is a different story, for allowing a powerful demon to hang his hat in your body has predictably undesirable consequences. Namely, the new tenant is bloodthirsty and doesn’t want to leave, sending John on a killing spree that claims five lives and lands him in a Mexican prison. Th

Blair Witch 3 Possibly Coming Soon

Second sequel to the granddaddy of found-footage may finally materialize A second sequel to the 1999 indie-horror phenomenon The Blair Witch Project might be forthcoming. Eduardo Sanchez, who directed the groundbreaking original film along with Daniel Myrick, had the following to say about the project in an interview with Dread Central to discuss his latest project, Exists : “We have been talking to Lionsgate and there has been a little bit of movement but nothing is concrete. The film seems inevitable to me, but really it’s just a matter of it being the right time. I’m thinking it’s going to happen sooner than later at this point, but I always say that. There’s always rumblings and certain ideas being pushed around and such. While I don’t have anything firm to talk about now, it wouldn’t surprise me if something happened within the next year or two.” The first film blazed a trail back in its day, grossing an unheard-of $250 million worldwide on a budget of a scant $60,00

2015 Big Movie Questions

Read on to learn why 2015 could be the most profitable year for Hollywood ever. Story by Matt Cummings With 2014 in the books - and a new slate of films already being released - we're continuing a tradition here at SJF by looking forward to the big movie questions of 2015. And while last year provided us with entertaining answers to the questions we posed back in January, 2015 looks to not only have just as many, but could be the most profitable year ever. Without any fanfare whatsoever, we now present the Big Movie Questions of 2015. Who will make more money: Avengers or Star Wars? It's a foregone conclusion that 2015 will be one of the biggest years for the box office ever. With interesting titles throughout the year, it's clear that Hollywood has saved its collective mojo for one big push. But there's always a top dog, someone who makes the most money after a fierce competition. Think 2012's Avengers vs. The Dark Knight Rises . This year, it&#

Blue Bloods S05 E12 Recap: Home Sweet Home

Issues continue with Season 5's latest premiere. Review by David Clark In its second episode back from mid-season break the family oriented police drama is back this week with another show. In the 5th season Blue Bloods is still entertaining but as things progress there appears to be a lack of clarity. In previous seasons an over-arching plot has helped drive the narrative from one show to the next. This plot line usually leads up to a satisfying conclusion by the end of the season. The current season has yet to establish that episode connecting plot leaving the audience with somewhat compartmentalized episodes. This week’s episode opens up with Jamie Reagan and his partner Officer Jenko entering a bank in response to a call about a homeless person scaring customers in front of a bank. When they discover the homeless person is just a kid they decide to help. Unfortunately the kid takes off and they have to chase him down. When they finally catch the homeless ch
