Onetime Tomorrow person Robbie Amell has quickly teleported himself into a hot new role — on The CW’s freshman superhero series The Flash . TVLine has learned that the actor (and real-life cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell ) has been cast in the recurring role of Ronnie Raymond, the fiance of S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Caitlin Snow (played by Danielle Panabaker ). Oh, and Ronnie is also one-half of the DC Comics character Firestorm – creating a tremendous bit of irony, considering Caitlin’s own (possible) destiny. In his Flash incarnation, S.T.A.R. TV Review: 24: Live Another Day “9:00 PM – 10:00 PM” By: Brandon Wolfe ’ 24: Live Another Day ’ has a lot of story left to tell and not a lot of time left to tell it. “9:00 PM – 10:00 PM” is the penultimate episode of this 12-episode event series and it breaks its neck setting up all the pieces for next week’s finale, yet it still feels like it’s setting up the next 12 weeks, as if the writers somehow forgot that they weren’t required to fill their usual quota of 24 episodes. The episode is a non-stop dash for Jack to put many pieces together in a very short amount of time. It’s a busy hour that rarely takes a breath, usually ‘24’s’ strong suit, yet it all feels a bit like speeding toward a red light. I don’t know how the writers intend to resolve not only this season satisfactorily, but perhaps the entire Jack Bauer saga altogether (those ratings ain’t great, after all), with just one measly hour left. TV Review: Tyrant “My Brother’s Keeper” By: Brandon Wolfe Maybe ‘Tyrant’ isn’t a total lost cause after all. In its first two showings, the series had set itself up to be a sensationalized soap opera, using its provocative premise as mere window dressing rather than something to really sink its teeth into. While I cannot say that “My Brother’s Keeper” necessarily negates any of this as being the case, the episode has a very clear focus on the story it’s trying to tell, and it’s actually a pretty interesting story. In a pinch, this will do. It’s Jamal’s first day as president of Abuddin and his first order of business is to appoint Bassam to the permanent position of Special Consultant to the President. While Bassam has had a change of heart and now does want to play a role in his family’s empire during this transitional phase, he still intends it to be a temporary one, though his wife Molly is dubious that he will be out in the three-week time frame he has designated.
